I really hate having to ask this, but I've tried to connect to hosted games before and it hasn't worked. Do I need to configure ports? And if so, how exactly would I go about doing that?

Again, sorry for my inexperience. And assuming I do get it to work, don't expect much of a challenge...

I don't think you need to to join hosted games, but just in case, here's how ya go about it. Worst case scenario, you should be able to host yourself. If you're behind a router, get the make/model. Set up a static IP. Then, based on your router's make/model, forward port 7500 to your new static IP. If you're using the free version of Zone Alarm, disable it whenever you go to play online (despite saying it's okay to access the internet, I can never host/join when Zone Alarm is enabled)
