I've watch the first ep of this series (Reverse), though not sure if I should continue it or not, first ep was decent but to early to tell if it's good or not. Main MC annoys me a bit with how he is.

Midnight Diner (Shinya Shokudo) is a series about an izakaya cook, it tells the stories of the people who come to the bar.
It really has some strong episodes, the last season is on Netflix and the previous three are around the internet, kind of hard to find but I found them on nyaa/./si a while ago.

I put it off for so long, but finally watched 1 Litre of Tears today. Made me cry like a bitch and I enjoyed it a lot... But there's definitely some things I didn't like for instance I wish it was only 8 or 9 episodes. I think the show started to lose its impact towards the end and there was a bit of filler scenes that didn't need to be in there. And finally they reused the same 4-5 songs multiple times in the same episode, which started to ruin some of the scenes.

This scene was probably my favorite.

It's definitely worth watching, I feel like it helped me grow as a person. Made me feel more positive about my situation in life.

I watch a lot of anime, (10tb archived) but, it's very rare for anime to have a lasting impact on me personally. Even if the subject matter is the same I think there is no real replacement for real life drama.

This makes me somewhat annoyed that Japan focuses so much on anime and the focus on real drama seems to have been lost. Going back and watching old dramas from the 90s and early 2000s, there is many examples of shows which just aren't made the same anymore.

Watch more seinen anime. Umino Chika's works are great, and not to forget Sakamichi no Apollon too. HachiKuro worked as an anime and manga format but it barely passed as a movie and tv drama. I have yet to watch Sangatsu no Lion's live action film, so can't really judge the thing but the anime was great.

Believe it or not, I skimmed trough the first episode. The second episode seems more tolerable than the first one and it was more like the original Hanadan you are familiar with. Give episode 2 a try, if it fails to get you into it, just drop the show.

The new one is still ongoing and still at episode 3. I suggest you to try the original first since it has 2 seasons and a movie that concludes the series. The couple will get on your nerve quite a bit due to their indecisive attitude but the endings for both seasons and the movie are worth the time you spent.

The new series is not a remake of hana yori dango. It's hana nochi hare a sequel that takes place some 10 years after the original with new protagonists. Probably gonna only have 1 season with an original ending since the manga is still continuing.

Who is your favourite Japanese film director?

Ignoring the obvious choice of Kurosawa, my pick would be Sono Sion. All of his work feels fresh and interesting, but Love Exposure in particular was an absolute masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Never before has 4 hours passed so quickly.

Oh yeah, and what does everyone think of Takeshi Kitano by the way? I've watched a lot of his films, and while usually they'll have me feeling engrossed for the most part, but the endings always leave me feeling unsatisfied. They always seem to lack that sense of resolution or they leave the whole movie feeling like everything that happened had no real meaning or point to it at all (maybe that's intentional?).

It had potential at the beginning, but it eventually became so predictable and generic partway through. Unnatural was definitely the better show of last season. I did like Saiko's cuteness all the way through though.

Also it probably won't change your opinion of the series, but there was a webseries called Todome no Parallel. It mostly followed up on the "bad end" realities, but the final episode follows up on the ending and is the "true end".

From the Kitano I have seen 3 movies (that I remember as his):
Kikujiro - I liked it. Had this nice, chill feels to it. Also, the soundtrack by Hisaishi is superb (like most of his works).
Zatoichi - Some jokes seemed to fall flat, but the others were really funny. The action scenes were overall good, but the blood effects look outdated nowadays. I didn't really like the dancing part at the end.
Ryuzo and the Seven Henchmen - Again I liked it, but some jokes didn't work out for me.

To sum it up: three different genres, I liked them all, but they are not perfect. I don't have the problem with the endings.

Wizard had an okay first half but was ruined by the terrible second half resolution arc. Ghost actually had a pretty linear story and watchable but it was fucking boring and the revival of that asshole was unnecessary and completely ruined the pacing until the very end.

I don't know about other fans but I always thought that Fourze was slightly ruined by the 'friendship is magic' shenanigans.
My other favs are Den-O, Blade, Kuuga, Hibiki, W, Kiva and Decade. Strangely, I find Gaim pretty much forgettable.

It looks like theyre still following the main storyline but they deviated with more character development. Oto and haruto becoming best friends while megurin is now a real character. However, the ending will still be different probably. I hope so.

Hi guys, just popping in to say I watched "The Complex" and it sucked, I was fucking stunned when I learned afterwards that this was directed by the same guy who made Ringu. The main character turns into a whimpering retard 2/5th through the movie. There's two scenes which I thought were directed badly, the first being when the old man is slowly walking towards the heroine it lingered way too long, like 30 seconds, I was thinking "cut away, cut away, you're overdoing it and ruining the effect." and the second was at the end when the child ghost attacked Sasahara it looked like something out of an evil puppet movie, it's almost comedic. There's like two sets in total, and a "downer" ending which just makes me feel like I wasted my time. Don't bother, though it is on Amazon prime if you're curious.

Yes, it looks like they will still adapting the Eitoku Hunt arc but with slight changes. I just hope that they won't end it with only 9 episodes. There is a reason why the japs claimed HanaDan as 神ドラマ, it was truly complete as a romcom series with perfect ending.

Watching Kagegurui right now.
I think it might have everything I could want in Live action Manga show

They way they do narrations, How unapologetically gimmicky they shoot every scene, The amount of extra screentime Nanami gets, and for how much I hated Ryouta in the manga, they managed to make him one of the best parts of this show.

Only thing that didn't work for me were Yumeko's speeches. She does the calm scenes really well, but her crazy just doesn't top the other actors well enough.

Watching Blazing Transfer Students. Although the story is retarded and most of the jokes fall flat, I like how every episode has a different setting and story. You can see the different schools they use in other dramas. There is at least effort in production.

One of the better movies I have seen lately. The story, the looks, the music (does Hisaishi ever fail to deliver?). My only problem with it was that the fight choreography was rather mediocre. The scene with pushing rickshaw in the snow was kino.
