Fairplay anon. Haven't played Saya yet if he didn't like Clannad at all then he probably won't enjoy the, dare I say , "Slice of Life" sections of Ever17 very much.

Personally I enjoy trying to unravel a mystery so Ever17 was perfect. Chaos;Head has made it a tad easy I think but maybe there will be a twist right at the end.

I honestly don't see the appeal of Ever17. I still haven't finished Coco's route though, so maybe it will make it all good. But still, so far I've wasted hours listening to boring girls chatter on about uninteresting crap. It's poorly written (at least the translation is), the first four routes are too similar and the girls feel like cardboard cutouts. No sex, no action, no suspense, no good drama. The romance is shallow, you don't really get the feeling there's real love in there.

I thought Ever17 definitely dragged on, and after playing Takeshi's route once and Kid's route once the other two preliminary routes were very tedious. But jesus fuck it was all worth it just for Coco's route. FYI the main appeal of Ever17 is the mystery of what's going on and piecing everything together to form your own theories, and then eventually finding out what the fuck actually happened in the last route.
