News:
-Decisive Battle, Operation Shou-Gou! Interception in the Battle of Leyte Gulf (Part 2) has begun. It is a 7-map large-scale event that will last until March 23 11am JST. E-1 is an ASW patrol mission in Palawan Passage, E-2 is based on the Battle of the Sibuyan Sea, E-3 is the "First Battle of Cape Engaño", and E-4 is "Beyond the Waters Off Samar— Battle of Leyte Gulf". E-5 is "Operation Ta-Gou Kai", E-6 is "Pursuit! The Second Striking Force". E-7 is "Victory on the Dawn Horizon— The Second Battle of Cape Engaño".
-The new ships from the main operation are DEs Hiburi (E-2 reward), Daitou (E-4 drop), Destroyer HMS Jervis (E-4 drop), and CVE-73 USS Gambier Bay (E-4 reward). The new ships from the Extra Operations are destroyer Hamanami (E-5 drop), Russian destroyer Tashkent (E-6 drop), and the Essex-class carrier CV-11 USS Intrepid (E-7 reward).
-New equipment are 10cm Twin HA+Additional Machine Guns (Musashi stock), SK Radar (E-6 medium and and easy), SK&SG Radar (E-6 hard reward), QF 4.7inch Mk.XII Kai (Jervis stock), 130mm B-13 Twin Gun Mount (E-4/5 reward), 533mm Triple Torpedo Mount (E-5 reward), and 51cm Twin Gun Mount (E-7 medium and hard), Shiden Kai (343 Air Group) Unit 301 (E-7 hard reward).
-The January ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment is the 5inch Single-Gun Mount Mk. 30. It will be obtainable with a new ship set to be implemented in the Spring.
-For the Fifth Anniversary, an American escort vessel that fought valiantly and sunk to protect the carriers off Samar from Kurita's fleet will be implemented.
-Friendly Fleet(NPC) appears in E-4 boss node during the yasen phase, where 1 of 5 preset NPC fleets will appear and provide shelling support before the escort fleet's turn. The NPC ships attack in the same way as a regular fleet does in yasen. Each fleet has a special voice line before they begin their attack. There are more Friendly Fleets(NPC) available in E-6 and E-7. New fleets have been added to E-7.
-New spring furniture has been added.
-Valentine's seasonal lines and CGs have been removed. New and returning Decisive Battle voice lines and CGs have been added. Zuikaku Kai Ni and Kai Ni A now have Cape Engaño Decisive Battle CGs.
-The Kagerou-class will receive Kai Ni starting in the spring and a few may already be implemented before Phase 2. Isokaze will receive a B Kai this Spring. Yuugumo-class will also get more Kai Ni this year.
-There are plans for expanding ASW with equipment from the land of black tea like ASDIC and hedgehogs.
-New Akizuki and Matsu-class destroyers are under plans to be added.
-KanColle will migrate to HTML5 and Friend Fleets will be implemented in the period between the Spring mini-event and summer in Phase 2.

Thanks. Yeah I have AS at hime node. That's what I've been doing, ~885 air power, and I still need 3 waves of LBAS fighters to get AS at boss (tried with 2 and got parity).
Tried a couple more runs and made it there with ~10 planes left in the 34 slots so I guess that first time was just getting unlucky with tsu-class AA rolls.

So I got bored and decided to try calculating the total cost of grinding a level 1 Mutsu to 30 and remodeling her for the 41cm

Map is 3-2-A using Mutsu as flagship (100 fuel/130 ammo), 3x DD (15/20 each), Houshou Kai (30/30), and a sub (10/20). The total cost per sortie then is 37 fuel and 48 ammo without including repair cost.

Generally speaking, you'll be using Imuya/Goya/Hachi/Iku as tanks since Maruyus are relatively rare. If we assume that they're getting hit to 1 health each time, that's a range of 9 health and 14 health lost. This amounts to between 2 and 4 fuel/5 and 8 steel per run as our repair cost. We can round this to an average of 3 fuel/6 steel as our extra repair cost. This makes our total cost per 3-2-A run as 40 fuel/48 ammo/6 steel

At 1152 experience per 3-2-A run, it'll take 37 runs to get Mutsu to close to level 30, after which you can do a single 5-4 suicide run to reach remodel level. This means we only need to resupply Mutsu 36 times, though the rest of the fleet still needs 37 resupplies.

Remodel cost is 900 ammo/800 steel. If you don't include the marginal amount of resources you get back from scrapping, our total then becomes 1460 fuel/2650 ammo/1022 steel.

If you value ammo the most, that's only 10 tries before grinding becomes more cost efficient than crafting. If steel is more important, that drops the amount of tries down to 4. If you're rich and don't care about either, feel free to spam your current recipe.


Basically unless you're impatient, you're better off leveling Mutsu for her guns than trying to craft them.

One since the AS requirement drop, you can bring more bombers for Zuizui and NTRqueen so that they are able to do cut-in. With greenjuice the shelling damage is insane for Musashi and friends. We are losing players, that is for sure; we are losing interest from the artists, that is for sure. I think the decline of canthis will be a slow one. Right now we are reaching a plateau with a little bit of slope. I think this game can remain for at least another 15 years and Tanaka can terminate this game 10 years earlier than that if he wishes to since by that time there is not much to milk from the game itself and there will be barely anything WW2 related to add since he said kaiten never. That said this is the fate of every game, they die eventually. There are still people playing WarcraftIIITFT but it is still a dead game in our eyes.

The real question is: why does it plateau faster than it should? Canthis is a very interesting game with new concepts and a playstyle that no other mobage dares to copy to this day. AL in essence is not a competitor for canthis because of how different their playstyle actually is. I think the answer is that the marketing of this game is bad. The anime and movie are very bad quality-wise. Lots of derp faces in still frame, lots of frame that are not connected (sunny day turn cloudy in 10 second and then turn sunny again the next frame, Yamato's socks change position in certain frame, her damaged turret suddenly fixed in certain frame). I wouldn't say that it affects the game negatively but certainly as good as they wanted. The only promotion that I can think of which actually rekindle the entire franchise I would say is the Zuiun fes. That is the only good promotion I've seen them doing.

Certainly this game should have a growth period longer than 5 years, but due to marketing failure canthis is just another franchise like Touhou: lots of hardcore fans, but no more new forces and in the end will retreat to a corner in the ACG world.

While both of them are very different in terms of gameplay, a person can only have 24 hours a day even if you are a hikikomori. They have to choose. Fate is a established franchise, so casuals are definitely gonna flock to it. Since the money flows where the casuals went, the artists naturally will follow the trend and start drawing them.

Even in a war of attrition, KC can never beat FGO. You only have that many ships from WW2, while you have millions and billions of famous people around the world throughout history, both fiction and non-fiction. KC should run out of content within 5 years.

E7 LD having 5 Hime shields, the only reason it was even possible was a huge damage buff gimmick that lets you do absolutely hilarious amounts of damage with specific ships.

Some time soon there will be so much AA that players carriers will be relegated back into being only reppuu mules because bombers will not survive the Tsu spam on the route.

On the topic of tedium and powercreep and whatnot that was mentioned earlier, the problem is there's only this much they can do with this particular type of game. Basically a new title in the franchise is needed in order to reset the counter to zero, because this isn't a skill-based game, other than time management skills, so as your stick gets bigger and stuff gets easier they need to compensate with making abyssal sticks bigger or making you need to use your stick more times. If they launched a new game that's more physical based, the issue of powercreep would at least be mitigated.

Drop Akizuki for a high luck damage boosted DD, Shigure or Ushio work if you dont want to block Hotel friend fleet with Naganami.
