I hold Fate Shirou and UBW Shirou on about the same level. Fate Shirou was naive but Saber had a good influence on him, I think. UBW Shirou essentially gives destiny a big fuck you, which is always awesome.

HF Shirou I don't like so much. I don't really care about him tossing ideals and crap away, but I feel it was handled poorly. Had it been done better, I could have appreciated it more.

Also, Sakura is just not as moe as Saber but that's something else entirely.

The element of ideal in Fate, imo spiritually reflected Archer better. Archer and Fate!Shirou both started out with little guidance, and they both went through similar ordeals due to their insistence of their ideals, but those few differences ( Fate!Shirou's love for Saber/Archer's few words of advice ) that strayed Fate!Shirou so close, and yet so far from what Archer became.

That scene happens directly after a summary of Fate route, detailing the life of Fate!Shirou in the HGW that lead him and Saber into the scene they showed in Last Episode.

Unlike Eclipse, Last Episode is canonically an epilogue to Fate route. Whether or not it's a dream, not real, miracle, etc is up to the reader. It's vague yet clear enough to be real or fake.
