Okina is basically Yukari 2: Dance edition and Yukari has been in everything recently, so that pretty much just means even more Yukari and a possible Yukari + Yukari or Yukari vs Yukari plot in WaHH.

The way I see it, Yukari has a plethora of fanworks dedicated to her whereas Okina has little to none. As such, secondaries are infinitely more likely to latch onto Yukari and have no idea who Okina is. I understand Yukari is one of the more developed Touhou characters in canon and Okina has only existed for less than a year, but secondaries don't care about that.

I didn't though. My entire point was that Ran has free will, regardless if it's the free will of the shiki's or that of the youkai animal.
On the other hand since I doubt anyone other than Yukari could subjugate the nine-tails there's no loss of generality considering nine-tails and Ran as the same entity (in the specific case of Ran).
