I tried it and yes, you can. I never knew this. Probably handy for combining many types of milk w/ coffee into a couple handy stacks to sell in your shop for high profit. Has half the effect on height compared to milk (1.44 changelog)

I'm trying to run this on Arch with WINE 3.0.1. I followed the steps on the wiki, i.e. I set wine to win32 and I downloaded dinput, directsound, gmdls through winetricks. When I try to start Elona now it crashes and a window opens saying "HspError 12 WinError 5". Any ideas?

How exactly does breeder quality training works for ranches? From what I gathered from previous threads it goes something along the lines of

>Wait for ranch to fill up
>Go around petting/brushing everybody
>Look for creatures(same as breeder) with good harvest info, has good meat ect
>Replace Breeder with better offspring
>repeat until the Breeder only breeds +10 and higher drop offspring

Updated the spellbook reading formula. It should be correct now. Sorry about that.

Spellbook reading does indeed depend on Magic attribute... but only for spellbooks of spells that depend on that stat, like Teleport.

Also, someone please make the page easier on the eyes/easier to comprehend.

Lads, this is a loss anon who has finally lost a long, long game. This character started from scratch, without using a gene. After surviving many close encounters and clawing my way to power, I took a risk by delving too deep just to grind a little faster. I died after around 400 hours to a Nyarlhotep in the Void floor 245. First a Profanity Priest cast a ball so unexpectedly powerful, it killed half my squad and broke my barrier. The next turn spelled my end as I made the stupid decision to read a return scroll instead of immediately teleporting, expecting him to attack somebody else and not realizing a Nyarlhotep had also been warped in (by a summoner?). It's been a good ride, but this is the end for Bouncing Whore Kanako, who traveled back in time just to get some hot action. My party was the starting little girl (valkyrie), Goda, Isca, a generic gangster, a cute fairy, a dog sister, defender, and a female exile (married). See you friends, and beware of void floors over 200!

I can't check the exact playtime anymore, but last time I played it was ~390h. A lot of it was leaving the game open when gone though. You can definitely get to where I was in under half the time. Here's the last character sheet screenshot I got.

If you can survive Ragnarok the chests dragons drop can have them and the loot is leveled to the dungeon you're in.

Otherwise, these are the only renewable ways I can think of to get them as of current:

Randomly generated on the ground.
Randomly in chests, especially treasure chests, wallets, lugage, etc.
Randomly in boss chests (lvl 50+), awakened dungens, and fever dungeons. These stack.
Very rarely as performance rewards.
People will also have some in their inventory from time to time.
Harvest spell.
Platinum bells.
Salary.

How do I rise my pets potential?
Do I just give them herbs and potions?
I already made two x50 investments into magic dealer and potions of potential are still rare as crap. Like every 3-4 times they get new stuff there is one. Should I invest more?
I read somewhere that pets can sell stuff they pick up and spend their gold at trainer to increase their potential, is it true or am I just a brainlet who misunderstood something?

Give you pets Pickpocket with Gene Engineering, with it they'll steal money from monsters they kill.
Then give them rare ores or flowers and they'll sell them at towns and spend the money at trainers, don't give them potions of potential those are for you.

Scrub here, Can't find anything on the wiki about it so I'll ask here. I might just be blind but I looked and the beginner guides, FAQ, equipment page, armour page and even tried searching keywords but nothing.

When an item says it "maintains <stat>" what does that actually mean? Limit the effectiveness of debuffs? Prevent debuffs from effecting the stat outright?

What does the golden halo and wings icon next to an item buff mean?

Also the "it hurts <thing>" is in green but can I safely assume it reduces it? I'm getting mixed signals as in most vidya that means its a positive.

If anyone can direct me to the wiki page with item buff info I'd appreciate it as I cant seem to find it.

Maintains stat just means that stat doesn't drop when some monster decides to feel you up using certain special actions.
I think the random halo and wings thing is from a never implemented crafting/fusing system.
Bright green is usually a good thing, muted green is usually random background flavour text.
As for item buffs I think you might want the Equipment attributes page.

Positive and Negative buffs can flip themselves if you're (un)lucky enough, but being in green as negative or red as positive can glitch out sometimes and you can only check the if it's working properly once you get the item that gives you flat value instead of ###.
Generally speaking though just take green buffs as positives and red ones as negative regardless of what the description says and hope it's not glitched.

I start out as a farmer, and take my sweet time farming in Yowyn to build up money and stats. You basically want to avoid risks as much as possible, immediately fill your armor slots/enchant to +3/get resists and focus on your survivability. When you've got your basics covered you can start doing daring shit, but expect to die multiple times before getting past ~40 hours (and expect to die even if succeeding at that)

Ether disease. Open up your feats menu and go to the next page until it shows you mutations and ether symptoms.
Potion of Cure Corruption will get rid of it, but unless you really need the head slot you're better off keeping it that way until the next symptom shows up. Potion of Cure Corruption gets rid of 2 symptoms with one potion (or 3 if blessed).

I have a question. If living weapons could develop different "curse" effects instead of bleeding would you fully level them up? Like instead of bleeding you might get monster attraction, or maybe EXP drain. If not, would choosing which curse effect change your mind?

That only happens if the game can't read an image file you put in the graphics folder. Check if your custom images are bmp and were exported without color space information (in gimp you can tick a box ''do not save color space info'' when exporting). Also backup frequently.

I recommend playing on your main character in essential for now, and trying loss later when you've got everything already figured out and get that itch to test it, the hankering for pain

After a bit of testing on a wizard mode file I'm 99% sure that all damage from MP breath is increased by breath enhancing equipment. Since it caps at 3x...well dealing 75% of your maximum MP in damage in exchange for 25% of your MP seems pretty viable to me.

Your memorization is probably being boosted by an outside source, but you don't have it learned yet. Your spells are low level and you don't have the casting skill, or it's really low. Casting chance goes up with levels and casting. Spells can reach 400% simply by sleeping a lot, I'm not sure if the default to 400%, but they might. It just means you'll gain xp 4x faster.

So aside from the messed up movement and vomiting are there any downsides to alcohol? I was looking though some old changelogs and found out that the chances for both of those are reduced depending on how many total drinks you have had.
Also I found out that NPCs have a chance not to consume a charge with rods if they have alchemy. The changelog says that it starts off at 80% with one alchemy but didn't mention if it ever hits 100%. I think it came from 1.51.

The only thing that matters for the player is potions of potential and just playing.
Herbed food is more for the pet for the simple reason that after 300, even at 400% potential you need ten herbs to get one more stat against the 1 herb for the pet ( since they have a x10 multiplier ).
Herbs are shining the brightest during the early game up to around stats 200-250, after that they stop being a good source and just grinding or chaining the training machine with the dumbbells of Opatos in Noyel is just plain better.

Check them everytime you pass near your house, and you'll be overflowing with potions of potential.
After that, just playing normally and use a potion anytime one of your stats reach good potential, even great if you have too much potions of potential.

I've tested something else. You know how the debuff from drugs reduces your gauge? The buff from the omega shift core makes it so your gauge doesn't deplete. Too bad the shift core has a 1 hour timer, I'd rather not waste a dozen wishes on cores.

Also a bit of warning about the gamma shift core, don't ride/be ridden or be in a tag team with anyone while it's active. It removes the immunity to slowing effects. Where can we suggest changes? Being able to move at full speed while being ridden would be a good improvement.

Yes, but the way it works is weird. I will create a base folder on every new playsession up to x that first creates a complete backup of your save (subfolder named 0) and from then it will create new subfolders for every save after y seconds have passed that only contains the files that have been changed. Meaning if you want to recover to subfolder 6, you have to paste folder 0 into your real save folder, then paste folders 1-6 into that save one at a time.

Be sure to set your minimum time interval to something high, at least 120 seconds, otherwise you'll have a tedious recovery process. I had mine set to a lower value once and got 101 of those subfolders in a 2 hour playsession.
Only took up 47 MB of space though

I Finished getting all the slots for my snail. It took a while because I was kinda meandering around. Running random errands, etc. I tried to keep my health low, just enough to get the next arm slot. Then saved up 5 cheese so I'd bounce back up in health right away. Did you know the game won't set you down to 1 life? It never dropped my past 2. I had plenty of time to decide on my final build, and it is thus:

1 head -> five horned helm (still need to get)
3 backs -> mighty arms, hero's cloak, gold assault (still need to get)
1 hand -> blood rod
6 arms -> blue spirit, cestus of meteors, 4 random artifacts
1 shoot -> smash tonfa, which does add its damage/hit to melee
1 ammo. I'd get rid of the ammo slot if I could. Right now I'm using it for more rubynus gear, but I might leave it empty long term.

I have the 4 artifact hands, but I'm not sure if I'll keep them. I only picked them for the status immunities they came with, so If I see some better immunities or stat maintains I'd want to switch. On the other hand, I'd also benefit from fusioning them into better gear now.

I'm not using some of those uniques right now, because they don't have rubynus and I *really* need the life. I'll switch over later when I grind up more cheese. I'm still using the solar cane at the moment. While the blood rod already does more damage and gives 3 life, it has 2 problems. 1) I need the see invisible trait from the solar cane. Sense object and water ball are enough for pumpkins, but I'd rather not be caught off guard by some of the nastier invisibles that show up late game. 2) It uses up my mp up each attack and I need that for the barrier skill.

I've died 6 times, if I kept track correctly. Twice to Aribel's starvation punch, and twice 'cause I wanted to get Mary's figure/card. I only realized my character was starving from Ari's punches and cutting herself on Mary's shield afterwords. I don't always pay attention.... That shield was 2 shoting me. Is the damage proportional to your attack strength? I gave up on Mary for the moment, though I could just use ranged attacks.

The performaids are kinda interesting. I've only had them in combat a few times, since one of my goals this character is to play solo. I mostly use them in party time. Using just fascination dance and pianos I can get 5,000-8,000. With ensemble I get 5,000-20,000 depending on the party. I've only recently gotten into the 15,000+ range, usually when melget the informer shows up.

When I first got each of the performaids I leveled them down to 10 in the memory palace, gene engineered them up, and equipped them with basic gear. Then I took them 20 levels through the void to get enough AP for 200+ speed. The beginning of the void, I tried at the end and that led to another death. The dead-eyes got to make another appearance here. The performaids each have their own special abilities, but I've seen them do rare things from time to time. Such as use attribution shield and other buffs.

Other things of note, I defeated Estork. Not much of a challenge by this point, but I wanted to try the masks to see if it helped with the whole salt weakness thing. Nope. I temporarily enabled save scumming and tried a bunch of things. Once a snail, always a snail. The rest of the time was spent running around doing random things, collecting tickets, getting artifact fusions up and running. I've only gone to floor 10 of chaos cradle, to get the mighty arms.

Future goals: Grind more health, at least 50 base health so I can switch away from rubynus gear. Get the last two unique artifacts. Grab the important artifact fusions, spells, important resists, see invisible, etc. I might try running through the rest of chapter 3 somewhere in there.

There are multiple ways to engage in beef curtain hurtin'. There is prostitution, sleep sharing, and forced sleep sharing. Sleep sharing can be engaged in by squeezing or during sleep when the pet has a sleep sheep. Results are positive if the pet has high relationship, and relationship suffers if it was already low (you force them). As far as I'm aware you can't prostitute yourself to unique NPCs, and can only consensually sleep share with pets.

However, it's possible to force sleep share with non-pets. If you beat a character to within an inch of their life (use knockout) and THEN squeeze on a sleeping spot while sleepy (sharing requirements), you can initialize surprise erection injection. I don't know whether anyone has tested whether this works on unique NPCs, but it definitely works on say, cheeky female rogue bosses. Yes you can be Rance in this game

Er... maybe? Your English isn't very clear so I'm not sure. You dragged/moved the save_charaname folder out to another folder while the game was running and then saved again in game?
From what I've seen of the code it has different types of saves, some just saving the map and others saving everything.
If you haven't advanced much try backing up your current save properly this time and just copy and paste the 'backup' back into save folder.
If you have advanced pretty far you could try backing up both your current save and your 'backup' somewhere safe and then copying all the map_*.s2 files from your 'backup' save to your current save. It might not work though.
