a big let down for me was that they reused characters which already appeared in a fighting game (tenshi, yukari). i'd rather have character which weren't playable before (like mokou, sukuna, doremy)

I don't see the problem with Tenshi. She was really only relevant in SWR, so I don't find bad she came back to have another shot. She's not an overexposed cunt like some other options they could have taken.

Amusing that a lot of these pairs seemed likely when we first heard about the game but many were way off.

I like that ZUN chose unlikely pairings though. Mokou/Mamizou is particularly surprising, their dynamic was great.
I'm starting to get tired of Kasen's sub-protagonist status by pairing her with Reimu, it's getting sad for Marisa (who got the short stick of the end, Koishi was just sort of there).
