IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT PLSREAD regarding improvement for Yunokami-Onsen Station stream

OP, please fix in next thread >>18117594

tl;dr for the raw feed:
use the link below:
rtmp://114.160.7.45/livepkgr/live-cam003

DO NOT use
rtmpt://114.160.7.45/livepkgr/live-cam003

Tech explanation:
You most likely do not want to use the rtmpt protocol to view the stream. This protocol encapsulates requests in http for technical purposes and leads to choppy, prone to crashing streams. rtmp should work fine on all players. Tested on my end with both VLC and MPV and I get no dropped frames, artifacts etc. However, the stream still drops typically during train arrivals, unsure why.

Here's one thing I'll tell you though.
Having a layer of new snow is actually a better condition on the path/platform.
People walking over it will compact it down and then it'll turn into a sheet of ice, which is really slippery.
When there is snow on top it is much less slippery, a couple of cm and it's much safer to walk on.

Your only other option is to clear it every hour so that it can't get formed into a layer of ice, and that includes through the night.

CraftCafe
Japan, 〒386-1431 Nagano-ken, Ueda-shi, Besshoonsen, 別所温泉1855-8

It actually appears to be someone's residence, partially converted into a cafe. Look at the hours, they only open during the weekends. Absolutely comfy. Reminds me of some rural areas in European countries where people run small stores and pubs attached to their houses.

You can take a look inside their cafe. See bottom of the webpage:

An oldman pases by with the morning shopping. This lane way is changes dramatically from night do day. In the day time it's largely delivery trucks, workers and random people passing by. Partly relevant: I stumbled over a few cab view "livestreams" recently, where various cab view train rides are broadcast back to back. This one currently has a video from the Soya line in Hokkaido running: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMteq6kDXT8

Yeah they are pretty comfy, used to be one that was only videos from Japan 24/7 but i can't find it now.
Problem is most of the time they loop the same stuff over and over so every day at the same time there would be the same clip as the day before.

I think i may have watched it before in 2010-2011 back when IP camera threads were common on /x/ but i never knew what station it was and eventually i lost track of it.

But i think that was a Panasonic IP camera stream, i remember i found it through one of those google search strings that used to spit out page after page of panasonic ip cameras so maybe it was another station that just looked similar.

You have never run a snowblower have you?
You still have to push the damn thing around in heavy snow, in his case starting at 4 in the morning and doing it again every 4 hours through the day.
If the snow is "fluffy" and light it's not that bad, but if it is wet or even worse, frozen walls left by snowplows it really sucks.

Sure it beats shoveling by hand, but it's still not that great.

>> No.18294922

>You still have to push the damn thing around in heavy snow
commercial grade and any consumer grade worth considering have a throttle that does the pushing for you. You're literally walking the snowblower while it does everything requiring considerable effort

>> No.18295144

>>18294922
Yes, and that works decent if there is 5-30cm of powdery snow, works less well against 1m high frozen walls left by snowplows.
Takes quite a while to eat through those.

In my case it probably has more to do with the cheapskate that thought it was better to send the intern with the hand held snowblower to do the work (That they would have had to pay for otherwise) of a tractor mounted snowblower.

>> No.18295422

>>18295144
I understand where you're coming from. I've been in situations where I've had to deal with cheap end snowblowers and manual shoveling. Guess I just appreciate how much a good snow blower can do, even with the high mounds of compacted snow like you mentioned being a pain. It's a relative cakewalk with a decent machine as opposed to a push only or a shovel

No I am finally sort of up to it, but I still can't find an easy and cheap way to do it the way I want. I want it to be something like https://pastebin.com/Z9kkjDjT where there are embeded pictures followed by links or them being hyperlinks themselves, so we can showcase the stream without having to open it. But seems like this is possible on pastebin only by using Markdown, which is a Pro only option.
Any ideas of similar sites that could do that for free?

The view is basically from here.
https://www.google.co.jp/maps/place/34°55'27.8"N+135°45'08.9"E/

Maybe the camera is newer than the street view image.

Probably, looks from the angle that it should be in the empty lot next to the power line tower on the streetview footage but it could be that it is further back and with a zoom lens.

I thought of that possibility too but the audio makes it seem pretty close to the tracks.
And I wouldn't think they'd use a shotgun mic or one of those long distance mics for this purpose.

I do. It adds life to the camera and reminds me of the old Aizu station. Who doesn't love jumping in fright every time that door warble goes off compared to the soothing music of Aizu?

I have switched almost entirely to this stream, not a station but lots of traffic and good audio quality, even picks up people talking when they walk past.
If only it was mounted a bit higher so you could see the scenery in the distance it would be perfect.
