So, I used to see alot of doll threads on /jp/, but I've not seen many recently. They used to not hold my interest, but I've been thinking about them recently, so...

Where does /jp/ buy these dolls?
Do they come with clothing, or is that seperate?
Do you make the clothing for your dolls, or is there a site you can order various clothes and accessories?

Surely, somebody here on /jp/ must have some kind of information. I have no idea where to start looking into buying one and getting clothes/etc. for it.

I refuse to believe that nobody browsing /jp/ can get me started here. Please give me atleast something to go on, even if it's just a link to a related website.

I can tell. Especially the more accessories/outfits, and even prop-type items you buy.

While I'm not excessively rich, I do have a good chunk of money laying around from working while attending college (which is paid for by scholarships).
I usually spend around $1200 a year on figures, so, it would just be redirecting money from that to these. Which, honestly, from the majority of pictures I've seen, I prefer the dollfie to most figures.

Question anon, I'm not sure on some of these tags I'm finding when looking at clothes.
For example, I can get that the clothes tagged SD are for the Super Dollfie (Which are larger?), DD is the Dollfie Dream, and so on.
I was looking at getting the plain Dollfie "Excellent Base Body" for the base figure, but see nothing tagged "EBB" or likewise.
Do you have any idea what the tags for clothes fit the normal body are, or does the site only sell clothes for the more expensive SD/DD models?

Before you buy I have to warn you that these types of dolls either made of plastic, vinyl, or some other material stain more easily compared to their resin counter parts. They are also more cheaper and lighter. Replacement parts are easier to find compared to their resin counter parts.

You can either buy from Volks (Dollfie Dream) or Obitsu which are like Dollfie Dream, but I hate the Obitsu joints because they are ugly, but provide better posability and can stand better than the Dollfie Dream.

Those dolls you have in your OP picture are Mamma Chapp and you will not find one cheap. They are worth about 30,000円 or more on YAJ, and do come with clothes.

Dollfie Dream, and Obitsu unlike other dolls are not strung. They have an internal skeleton that makes it easier for them to stand. However Dolfie Dream I is partially strung and has an internal skeleton, but I am not sure they are still being sold.

If you wish to join the elitist and buy a resin doll you can buy Volks, Angel of Dream, or any other manufactuer. They usually range from $300-$1000 or even higher (non-Voks) for the bodies including a head with face up and body detailing.

This is an expensive hobby and you may spend at least $500 if not more on the initial start up (Buying the doll, and her spare clothes)

You can have a hybrid (vinyl body, and resin head or any comination) if you wish, but it requires some modifying. You'll have to find tutorials to do this yourself.

To avoid stains buy a sealant such as Mr. Super Clear and thinly coat her twice from head to toe, and maybe buy a thin body suit, and a wig cap to prevent staining. Or if you can modify clothes add a thin layer of white cloth to prevent staining.

Remember to wash your clothes, and leave the clothes in a tub or something to see if the dye bleeds. If it bleeds it needs more washing. When the vinyl stains it will be impossible to get out even if you sand it. With resin you can sand it down and remove the stains, but preventing the stains all together is desirable.

Face up refers to the make up, and the body detail usually refers to any details the artist has decided to add like pink nipples, blushed body or anything else.

You'll also need to wash the wig. You can buy doll shampoo if you can find it, but I like to use normal shampoo because it smells fruity.

Was anything that will come in contact with your doll, and if it's really dark do not leave clothing on for long periods of time. However this may depend on the material I have a school girl outfit which has a dark black skirt, and I've left it on for months without it staining, but I did wash it multiple times before putting it on.

People who own Dollfies treat them like obsessive parents treat their children. To them, these things are almost alive. They design different sets of clothes for them. They dress them up. They do photoshootings with them at different places. They let them meet up with other Dollfies from other people.
