Does Yasu really find men physically attractive? I think she likes Batora and Jooji because of their personalities. And because being raised as a girl messed with her head.

I mean, all the furniture are sexy girls in Angel Mort outfits. And Kanon's love for Jessica is given the same level of importance as the others. Battler is a cool dude and her first love. George has been her boyfriend for 2 years. And yet, Kanon could still win, forget about those two and have a relationship with this girl that barely knows him and is simply infatuated with him.

I think it's obvious that Yasu loves pretty girls and could potentially dump her boyfriend just to be with Jessica. Even though her relationship with George is far more advanced and the guy would have his heart broken.

How exactly was Yasu incorporated into the Fukuin house without raising anyone's eyebrows?

How did this work? Did Genji raise Yasu at Kuwadorian for some time after she was born? Did Dr. Nanjo take her back to Niijima? With how intelligent both characters are depicted, I really doubt they just dropped off their chopped-up baby at the orphanage right after sewing her up.

I want more ecchi episodes of Higurashi. Especially if they are anime exclusive and not just adaptations.

A remake could turn out to be good, but it will never do the novel justice. Also, the fans of the original anime would give it a lot of shit for not being completely focused on the gore.

A Chiru adaptation can be nothing but shit. It's fucking impossible to adapt properly and it would feel incomplete unless you watch the shit DEEN adaptation of the first half.

I would like some sort of anime exclusive story that expands the Umineko universe. As long as it's not a shitty adaptation of an existing story that only works in a VN, it could be good.

On the other hand, a half decent Chiru adaptation full of memes and Erika being a ridiculous bitch could spawn a lot of fanart and doujins. The normies could finally experience the second half of Umineko by watching a watered down bastardization of it (it's not like they'd understand the novel anyway) and we get a shitload of porn.

The problem is that a lot of people watch anime adaptation when they don't know any better and end up regretting it. I have fond memories of Higurashi, but I really wish I could have read the novel first.

Honestly I'd prefer the PS3 sprites in everything but faces and some body poses, particularly expressions.
Still I get why people prefer them, although I wish they weren't frontloaded with the backgrounds and other shit because "quality".
There's too much that's changed from the base game like transitions that effects entirely how you see the little things.
The shit with the voices(see ep5) is just an obvious way of pointing to this.

Hey there guys, I been wanting to replay higurashi, this time the ps2 version.
I applied some patches to it so far it's working quite nicely, however theres this one sound thats extremely annoying to me and I cant figure out how to get rid of it. It seems to be a sound effect mangagamer added to the game.
It basically sounds like "HIMERARETAKYOUSO.wav" but ear numbing, and plays whenever something scary is found out.
Since I dont know which of these files are even sound files, or how to play them if they are to find out I kind of have no choice but to ask right.
Tried removing all wa files but it still continued to play.

The best part of the game is when the annoying, useless, childish, selfish "kawaii loli" gets hooked to a machine with the other girl and they are forced to swallow each other's shit and vomit it back into their assholes. I think, quite suddenly, I've realized just why I have such admiration and respect and just overall love for Ryukishi07 and all the works he creates, and the root of that is Comiket.

For those who don't know, Ryukishi07 is the creator of the When They Cry series. He writes visual novels, though he's worked on other things as well, as part of collaboration (which is the process of creating visual novels to begin with, with all the background music, the visuals, the animating process-). He sells his work at Comiket, the largest self-published comic book convention in the world. He has been doing this since Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: Onikakushi-hen, the very first of his novels and, as far as we know with his pen-name, the first thing he's published ever, came out in August 2002.

From there, he's gained an amazing reputation, had anime adapted from his work (which is not common, at least not when the visual novel has only two people working on the story and the game save for the music) and has worked with other companies since due to the success of Higurashi.

His visual novels are freaking HUGE. Seriously, they are longer than some novels people work on for years. And he has put them out, twice a year save for 2003, since Higurashi.

Sure, they may be very guttural at times. They are raw, filled with pure emotion, narration devolving into screams, or cries, or words of joy. Yet this is the strength of them, they are pure emotion and pure heart. Every single story, I know he's poured his soul into, and from this he has become successful. There was no publishing company save for him, his brother and his best friend. There was no chance this would catch on. There was, actually, a very high chance that his work wouldn't make as much money as it cost time to put into it.

But he sold it anyway, with his charmingly poor art and his love of mysteries, and it's grown so big.

Because he loves telling stories, scaring people or making them feel something. And he took a shot.

And despite everything, he's so kind with his fans, so grateful and thankful. He's genuinely happy when people read his work.

And that's simply the most inspiring thing in the world to me. That's why Ryukishi is one of my role models.

Okay guys you are really my last hope now I doubt you can help me at this point.
I found the file in question in the data03000.arc and data05000.arc.
in data03000 it is wa_023 and wa_026 and in data05000 it is lsys32.
Now while I managed to unpack the arc files I can not pack them back together. I replaced all files in question with a custom file called silence.ogg to remove the track so it should be fine.
If anyone here knows how to repack that .arc file now, that would be great. I can not just google .arc repacker since it needs to be a very specific one for VN.

Have some cute umineko picture as encouragement.
If I get no answer here I'm done though, most likely.

Ookami Kakushi is fundamentally different from Higurashi besides having some core similarities in the settings (isolated village and creepy girls, local secrets surrounding the place, etc...).

Character interactions in general are, by plot device, more focused in different topics than both Higurashi and Umineko (one of the feel works from Ryukishi where the concept of lust and obsession is explored, which is always interesting to see).

It's not mentioned by fans too much by the same reason Iwaihime isn't: It's not a 07th Expansion VN and it doesn't feel like one in any way. Both are still written quite nicely as usual. although I would argue Iwaihime is his weakest work... and my suspension of disbelief was obliterated with a certain overly sexualized scene I've never expected from him.

But to be honest, Iwaihime would be the work that looks closest to what Okkami Kakushi is, if you want comparisons.

He is the full writer for both works too and the director for Okkami Kakushi as well, although only Iwaihime has him as the sole writer.

Most of the routes are written by some other people, and if I recall correctly, each one wrote an ending scenario and the alternative perspective of several characters, while Ryukishi was responsible for most of the core moments and true ending, much like he was the one behind the entire concept and story creation of the VN as a whole.

Plus, it remains untranslated to this day, much like Iwaihime, plus it was a PSP exclusive title. You can say very few people in the west bothered checking it out, and most of the people who did was because of R07's name being attached to it. In Japan it was quite the unexpected cult hit, and had a good following that was hyped for the announced anime adaptation... and then it was trash and everybody just stopped talking about it.

In my simplified scale, where:
Higurashi is a 9
Umineko is a 10
RGD is a 9
Higanbana is an 8
TRT is an 8
I would put those two as:
Okkami Kakushi is an almost 8
Iwaihime is a 7

People here in Japan -specifically in the anime/manga/light novel industry, the most otaku centered mediums, in this case- have one big eternal prejudice with all and any doujin work at all.

Studio Deen gets a lot of shit for its terrible adaptations, but you can be sure that without it, both Nasu and Ryukishi would have ever escaped cult following status, as they are probably the only studio modest enough to take bets in doujin works like Tsukihime and Higurashi (which also channeled them to be their immediate contact and promoter for both of the authors' next works, Fate/Stay Night and Umineko.

That's the main reason why you will never see a Touhou game get an actual anime other than fan-projects, besides its abnormously huge sucess that covers most of the Comiket up to this day (with porn).

Ryukishi did the impossible and saw the invisible when he created Higurashi. You won't ever see CEOs from various magazines literally offering him to be published and cover all of his works from beginning to end in manga format even though they don't sell that well... except for maybe Higurashi.

He is so respected and well-known in the industry, even if he never exited the doujin circle status. It's almost unbelievable in all fronts, this never happened for any doujin creator at all, not even for ZUN.

Although he gained quite a bit of hate for his choices in Umineko -like, leaving the readers to solve the whole thing for themselves instead of just getting them the explicity from Higurashi's conclusion- he still is a big name for anyone inside the japanese otaku circle.

I would rather give him props for all of that instead of feeling bad for his promotional anime not being proper adaptations for his doujin works.

Lately he even was responsible for the script of the second half of Rewrite anime adaptation, and to my surprise, unlike the rest of the anime, it didn't suck balls.

First, Ryukishi07 wasn't the scriptwriter for Rewrite Season 2, but was credited as the Storyboard writer instead.

Second, that was later removed for some reason, and now he doesn't even have said credits.

I'm not really sure about what the hell happened in the production of that anime, but it seemed to be a mess.

Haven't finished it yet but it's shit in my opinion. Not because of any scenes being sexualised, which the VN has a lot of but simply because I don't like the way it's written.
The concept could've been interesting but there's something really off with the presentation. While I fell in love with the characters in Higurashi, cared a lot about what happens to them and found the characters of Umineko interesting, neither of those holds true for Iwaihime's characters. They feel like they have no substance.

The 2002 anime is pretty meh, but it does some interesting things with Nayuki. People hate it because the animation is atrocious, but I enjoy the old school style. It's very faithful to the VN sprites.

The 2006 anime is fucking great, but it removes the whole "if you choose this girl, all the others are fucked". And it also removes the romance from all the routes except the main one. It hurts because the incest route is my favorite and they barely do anything with it.

Play the VN first if you can. Be careful because some downloads include an "all ages patch" that removes the H-scenes, but you can get rid of it by deleting the folder. It's not like KEY H-scenes are actually good, but it feels bad to play a censored version.

The fact people contacted Alchemist about this plagiarism claims and yet no legal action was put most likely proves that maybe Ryukishi just asked them to modify their costumes and put in his VN beforehand.

Any japanese fashion magazine and their respective contributors would get extra cautious with any of its content getting actually stolen, more than most anons discussing about it... and much like they notified Alchemist, many probably told the magazine as well, considering this is an old problem, from 2011 to be exact, the fact nobody ever bothered to even cover said accusations probably just mean nothing actually happened.

You can call me patriotic if you want, but do not underestimate our seriousness when it comes to this kind of thing, Japan has no mercy in that front, even with famous creators.

Is it me or some parts of Higurashi and Umineko can be extremely relaxing in a way? Like the beginning of Meakashi where Shion is just chilling with Kasai, or the parts in Umineko where you get a break from the main narrative and see what's happening with Ange during the aftermath of the Rokkenjima incident. I'm sure there are a lot more moments but those small moments are more comfy than any SOL I've read.
