I've been wondering /jp/,

How do you get along with your family? Do you still live with them? Is it a fairly average situation or is there an abnormal amount of fighting and lack of trust?

Personally, I haven't seen my father since I was 14 (six years ago and we never did get along) and there is a lot of friction between my siblings.

I'm curious to know if this is common between /jp/edos.

I've been disowned by my mother, but she's a baptist zealot, so I'm OK with that. My father I see about once a year, if even that much; we get along, but neither of us have much to say to each other.

My sister has two kids, never been married and has never moved away from home. She's 32 now, and while we hated each other as children, technically we get along now, but I never see her because she lives with my mom.

My family situation is pretty good.My parents and I get along just fine, and I still live with them since $250 to help with bills is much better than $500 rent and another $300 for utilities and food.

My sister is completely adorable and we get along great. We play games together, and sometimes just decided to be immature and dig out some toys to play around with.

Right now, with Christmas time here, my uncle, his wife, and adopted daughter are coming over pretty much every night. My uncle's awesome, pretty much like a stereotypical huge cheery guy. The aunt is alright, we never talk much, but that's no big deal.

The daughter is a bit of a problem though. We were friends as kids from the time they adopted her, up until high school. Then we hardly saw each other, and sometime in her last two years there some screws went loose. She started to really mess with me after she graduated, and it pretty much escalated until she nearly seriously hurt me. I finally got things taken care of, and she doesn't try anything too serious with me before, but even just fooling around, she's rather rough.

Mine's pretty average.
I live with my mom, My parents got divorced years ago. Dad moved out of state, got remarried to some annoying woman. My mother had a boyfriend that had lived with us for years. He verbally abused everyone daily and he would hit my mother and I occasionally. Things would disappear from my room while I was at school and he then one day he proposed to my mother. When I was younger I always fought with my sister (older) and my parents, mostly my dad. Basically everyone in my family fought with each other all the time. After my sister went to college, and later dropped out and moved back home, she and I started getting along great. My parents still fight a lot and are probably on the verge of a divorce. I almost didn't come home for Christmas this year because I didn't want to deal with them, but I thought it would upset them too much.

Other than my sister I think I would be perfectly content to never see my family again. I don't really hate them but they're miserable people to be around. I'm really easygoing but they get very stressed and uptight over every little detail, which is something I can't stand.

I've said it here in the past. My father's a fucking asshole (wouldn't let me see my grandmother before she died; told my mother that if she doesn't like him smoking, just move out when he knows she can't, etc). My mother's too kind and passive to do anything for herself, so she's just working up enough money in the hopes that some day she'll be able to rent her own place away from him. I live with my mother, who is unnaturally tolerant. I get along with her well enough. On the plus side, well, she has the patience of a saint when it comes to me. As far as negatives go, she's an alcoholic. Not the abusive kind, just the depressing kind. Frankly, I think I'd prefer abusive.

Never got along with my asshole father, who certainly would've thrown me out to die in the street a long time ago, but he died and I took his room so ha ha. Now he's sitting in a box on my bookshelf and he can't stop me from enjoying myself.
