No, he's not working on this alone, that much I know.
As for why it's slow, I can at least make three guesses;
1) It's a fan project, so he's probably taking it easy doing (a good job of) it.
2) The game was made from scratch, iirc, so getting it right takes time.
3) He prefers updating in bulk, barring bug fixes. I mean, we barely have any English in 0.3x release, come 0.4 and suddenly everything is in English. Well, he left out some, but it's not too noticeable.

Use +atk and stun game chips. I get doc style all the time and my usual strategy is to use aura sword with stun effect to help aim a storm chip with extra attack. A single storm chip hits 8 times meaning using it with a single + 30 atk chip earns you an extra 240 damage from the boost alone. Do it when synched and you can pretty much clear any single enemy in one combo. Doc Style is easily the best thanks to the extra chips basically guaranteeing you can combo anything right from the start.

>>18051991
It took me 16 hours to complete the demo without rushing, yet I didn't finish everything there is to do on it.

>>18052938
Not true, since the game is using a lot of assets from MMBN itself, mostly art and I'm sure some music as well, plus I think they could sue for the battle system alone since it's so unique yeg I'm not sure.

I'd also like to comment I disliked most of the OCs, the fact that Patchy is both a teacher and a Navi; I like both but I also think there's enough touhou characters to not have to repeat one of them. I also found the music to be missing the touhou flair, but that might be a good thing depending on who you ask.

I don't think Capcom would bother to go for the Battle System given they've let things like Rosenkreuzstilette and 20XX slide. And they even let Capricorn fuck off when they just reused the Rockmen R engine to make the Touhou Rock Maiden games.

But the art assets being clearly built on BN ones is a problem. If this ever wanted to go commercial he'd have to redraw a lot. It's not impossible but it'd probably take the wind right of his sails.

The OCs are a bit much, but given BN had Navi's not based on characters from the classic series it's not without precedent. I feel they could be integrated better though.

New anon here. Just beat Yori. I think I may be inputting too fast, because I'll make moves like for example ↓←A to quickly move into position and use a card, only to have the left input execute late and the card not go off at all.

That all came to a head at Yorihime, where that flaw of mine made me physically unable to dodge on reaction and I had to preempt her moves instead.
I gave up trying to actually fight her. Instead, I learned all her moves, then dropped Medicine on her entire side of the field, and waited her out. I don't think I have a great deck, but I have a decent sense of how to think out my moves and that plus Medicine stall is what's getting me through most of this game so far.

I'm also really loving wing style.

I love using Wing against Tortoiseman for the flying, but at higher levels he's way too fast for me to safely land a lot of my attacks. I found myself just throwing out random tornados instead to see if I could hit him and set up my chips that way.
Against other fast Navis where I didn't need to avoid terrain, I just switched to Ninja style.

Never had that issue. For the most part the game runs buttery smooth. Evn so Yorihime, as most enemies, can be cheesed with the proper chips.

Thunder chips for the most part paralize, and are great for setting up combos, wood chips are also great for extending them since they produce no invulnerability window, lastly multi hit chips are great both for damage since a single +10 chip counts for every hit, and they're also great for countering attacks if you don't have the timing right.

Chips like aura sword (with a barrier on) or the machinegun chip are great to use along with a stun game chip since you don't even have to aim them, and they allow for easy follow ups.

A single combo of Machinegun + Stun Game (counter) > Tomahawk (Middle lane) > Storm + Atk+30 deals a total of 120 + 160x2 + 400, or 840 damage total with only 5 chips. And that's without elemental weaknesses or style bonuses in play.

If you're relying on your buster to clear anything you're either doing it wrong, or using a gimmick built.

Well then I recommend you get the Meiling Style (Fighter Style IIRC), the rapid fire buster add-on and a bunch of buster plus chips. The buster used in this way is VERY strong, but the downside is you can't move while holding down the fire button. I like the fact the buster pellets actually get bigger the higher your attack goes and uf you get the add-on that adds shell cases it looks cool as fuck.

>> No.18066186

>> No.18066707

>>18066186

No no. Meiling style is great if anything since it gives +10 attack to non elemental chips, it has great synergy with Storm chips. Since you'd be using the add-on for autofire you won't be using charge shots anyway.

Meiling style actually doubles your buster damage, and with auto fire and a couple of buster + chips you can start firing 20 damage bullets at alarming speeds. It's a very legit strategy that only falters on the lack of counters. (And most bosses don't just let you shoot them unpunished)

Get it with leaf element for extra swag.

I'm phoneposting so I can't share mine right now, but I can give you some tips.

Get rid of the recovery chips, if your goal is to get S ranks you shouldn't be getting hurt either way. Get rid of the swords too, they're garbage outside their PA and until you have all 3 they just take space on your hand. You want your chips to flow not stagnate.

Might want to reduce the navi chips to only the two V3, your call. Get the aura add-on and place 3 - 4 aura swords in there, getting them with * is easy. You can use the aura swords to clear viruses easily, and for bossfights they make great AoEs to counter with, or use with stun game. Flame throwers come in M and have piercing, which can help with some viruses. Get some Storm chips in there too, they can also be found in * if you S rank them. Another atk+10 wouldn't hurt either. If you rely on backrow attacks anc stealing lines in general, having one of those pushback wind chips wouldn't hurt either. They make aiming the storms harder though if you haven't stole a line yet.

Hope this helps make your folder run more smoothly.

Exactly.
There's 190 basic chips in the game right now. Most come in 3-4 codes. Meaning there is a 1 in, oh, 665 chance of getting a specific chip out of this noise thing. Yeah I'd say that amount of grinding is pretty unreasonable.

V3's are all doable, they just take a bit of getting used to. Optimize your folder and you can easily remove chances of things going wrong.
SP and up makes things very hectic and frustrating at times, as bosses will kill you very quickly, move maybe faster than your keyboard will input (I gave up on getting a video of that SP5 fight because I'm not good enough to dodge the tri shot without some luck), and have mammoth HP amounts. In particular, I don't think that folder could take on yorihime without a bunch of counter hits or restructuring.
This means the eventual multiplayer is going to be cheesy as hell unless everyone can get large HP increases.

Yes, yes you can. But really, as long as you don't overwrite your Doc style, you can keep using it as much as you like.

Also, I'm kinda surprised this thread already reached 300+ replies. It's making me happy for some reason.

>> No.18103129

Is it designed to favor new styles until they have all been cycled through? Because I got
Earth Fighter
Elec Witch
Heat Ninja
Leaf Wing
Aqua Gaia
Poison Doc
In that order. It seems a little too coincidental that they were all different elements and no repeats happened until after I got Doc.

As long as anyone has anything to say about the game there's no reason to not have a thread up. If it dies of inactivity that means people ran out of things to talk about, and only then it should be time to take a break.

Probably. It might be designed like that to avoid repetition. So far I've only been getting Fighter style, which is the only style I don't have at hand.

Murasa is the boss for the cruise ship scenario. Surprisingly she's also the only Myouren member to appear.
But you will meet Wriggle and get to fight Beetleman during your stay at the cruise ship, hence the background.

Also, speaking of cruise ship scenario, having watched the playthrough vid, now I know why Koki haven't updated the game with new episodes: the two new episodes he's shown is short. Not very much, but it is kinda notable, especially compared to the past ones. Maybe it has something to do with the smaller number of maps, idk.
