Japanese "christmas cake" is different to ours. What do you say is the most appropiate replacement, if we cannot obtain this?

A cake bought for the purpose of eating it on Christmas

Sounds like a plan.

I don't understand, but I don't want Christmas cake. No one does.

I don't really want fresh or even undercooked cake either. I like sitting around by myself and sometimes looking at pictures of small cakes. I don't need to eat.

Oh fuck. Whyd you do that?

>> No.1802357

angelfood or shortcake with layers of lightly sweetened whipped cream and fresh strawberries. topped with the same. Pretty bland and shitty if you ask me

Don't they also call a woman past her prime a "christmas cake"?

because no one wants her

i wonder how a rich fruit cake would do over there, since most japanese cakes seem to be sponge or cream based i've always figured they haven't much taste for fruitcake.. but fruitcake is generally a traditional western thing, so it may not have been successfully imported

sorry it's not loaded with over sweetened corn syrup and splenda. Desserts outside of the US use real Sugar.
