Most of them are youkai or fairies or humans who have come from the outside world, usually a personal affair and not a "bring the whole family" event. Reimu is the last in her clan. Marisa seems to have disowned her father back in the Human Village. Akyu is too old, and important, to be mothered. Mokou's parents are dead; Keine is also long-lived, and has probably outlived her parents. Kaguya's parents may still be alive on the moon, or may have never traveled to the moon with Lord Tsukuyomi. SHINKI IS DEAD, or at least indisposed. Sanae has two mommies (her direct parents are outside of the Great Border). I go on?

Magic, sorcery, natural forces of nature. Akyu hints a lot about human consciousness playing a key role in the creation of some youkai; the gods are probably to blame for a lot of it. The Moon treats the Earth like a dumping ground and penal colony so I wouldn't let them over the hook.

As I stated in my previous post, Gensokyo is a different universe than ours. It might not be a dreamworld, but an existing place. Then almost every female we know there is a so called "Youkai" entity. What if this "youkai" race, what is almost completely human like, has grown different habits in the breeding like asexual reproduction. Just a different race than ours, with the capability of both asexual and sexual reproduction.

Odd's are most humans are descended from there. Also, I always got the feeling that the place was like a mystic oriental Casablanca for the Supernatural, so most of it's supernatural residents have had to leave their families (or perhaps their families have been killed) and hide behind the border of Gensokyo.
