After the 1905(the year wolves became extinct) The fox became the sole hunter of small animals (rabbits and such), but it was not enough, rabbits infested many japanese forests. Many japanese people are considering to bring Wolves from other asian country to reduce this problem.

Maid-dogs with drill-arms were revered in ancient Japan. That is why they are awesome.

Also sage.

Why should they settle for a second rate Asian wolf? Japan is loaded. They could step up a model and get a bigger and more impressive Alaskan or Canadian timber wolf.

Because such a huge kind of wolf would hunt the local critters to near extinction and turn on humans when the food supply got scarce. Ideally, Japan would want to reintroduce the same species they had or it's nearest relative in order to restore the previous balance.

Nature moves slowly. Right now most wolf prey animals are probably living short lives among too many of their own kind, always half starved.

>> No.180432

There are still some wolves in Siberia. If you can tame one, it is not against the law here to have one as a pet. Even in America if you have a wild wolf as a pet I bet most people wouldn't notice the difference between it and a Husky.

>> No.180506

>>180468

dogs evolved from wolves. All animals which have an "alpha male" leader type can be tamed. If you find a puppy wolf you can raise it, it will be tamed. Also, if you challenge an Alpha male of the pack and win, you will be the alpha male of the pack (or so the myth states)

The taxonomy been corrected. Wolves and dogs are the same species now, with dogs being a subspecies.

And tameness is different from domestication. You can tame a wolf in the same sense that you can tame a tiger, but it will never be domesticated. Dogs are domesticated, and you would never consider one "tamed" unless it was feral.
