That's why I said tangentially related. Both Saver and Ayaka are proto-saber and proto-shirou, before the artist decided he preferred to draw a female knight.
The change actually hurt the plot in my opinion. "Saver" fits better in being the one helps out Shirou and Ayaka being clueless about sex fits to her bookworm character.

Yeah, I've also been visiting 4chan less and less. I don't like the new /a/, so I don't go anymore. I still browse /jp/ a bit though, since it's still pretty good. The only problem with /jp/ is that it moves a little slowly, so it can't entertain me for hours on end with new topics/posts like the old /a/ did.
