Momodora isn't a hard game in the first place, no need for easy modo. Also don't be dumb, there's a form to email her on her site, which you can find on her YT channel. And don't send her that video to watch, a link on jp steam or a jp gameplay (since there's an official jp translation) will gather more interest since she'll actually understand what it's saying

Hey now. I'll have you know that some of those boss fights can be quite grueling and Kizuna's performance in PUBG suggests that dying in three hits during a boss fight might be too much for her. You saw Moemi's playthrough of Cuphead, didn't you? Moemi is significantly more competent at PUBG than Kizuna and yet Moemi still struggled with Cuphead and had to play on Simple mode. I wouldn't mind trusting Moemi with a playthrough of Momodora on normal mode but Kizuna? I absolutely believe she'd need easy mode.

Good point about the jp gameplay video. Hopefully, I can find some jp gameplay on easy mode.

Well firstly, the first boss fight is the first boss fight. It's not meant to truly challenge you. It has a bunch of health but only two attacks, both of which are done one at a time. If you were looking to be truly challenged, you should've given the game a chance and progressed further. What games can you think of where the first boss grabs your intrigue?

Where exactly is the tedium in Momodora? At the start of the game, before the first boss fight, you're just exploring wherever you can explore which, due to the game's 2D nature, basically keeps exploration very much on-rails. I can only imagine it gets tedious when you no longer know where to go but that's what the map's for. Look closely at the map and you can identify when you've missed another area.

I've never played a RE game before but those games are pretty long from my understanding. There's going to be a lot of times that you just don't know where to go and what to do unlike Momodora that gives you a map so you're never truly lost. Despite its attempt at metroidvania, I think the game and the restrictions it applies to what areas you can access at what points in your progress has enough linearity for it to still be engaging.

I didn't actually mean to criticize the game itself, but I didn't word it very well. I don't have a problem with Momodora in particular, in fact I appreciate the dev's efforts and didn't refund the game despite having barely played it. I'm just not very good at this kind of game in general, and things like having to go through repetitive motions over and over again to decrement a boss's health bar until it reaches zero quickly feel tedious to me. I did enjoy the exploration, though.

Seeing her get bored at the tiniest bit of repetitiveness in Little Nightmare's equivalent of a classic boss fight felt familiar (pic related). Which is why I don't think that she's the right audience for a game like Momodora. But I could be wrong, she is persevering through PUBG and RE7 after all.

I think that titles like Inside, Little Nightmares, Brothers AToTS, SOMA, to name a few, can fit in that "genre" of games where the primary goal of the game mechanics is to continuously build a narrative and convey a story. Challenge exists but gives priority to the narrative, when it isn't straight up used as a narrative device itself. Hence the usually much more lenient difficulty found in these kinds of games, just hard enough to be engaging, but not so hard that it would make the experience repetitive and frustrating.

I haven't played Momodora in a while but I'm quite certain that Momodora's bosses do use an element of randomisation to the order of their attacks so whilst they're never hitting you with something completely out of left-field (assuming it's not your first time seeing it), the fight is never just a matter of pure memory where the boss is simply cycling through the same attacks in the same order each time and you just have to memorise and execute. That to me is what I find tedious-- boss fights reduced to mere memory tests like those rhythm games.

I haven't caught up with her Little Nightmare videos in some time now so I'll be sure to do so today so I can see the boss fight for myself.

That sentence feels like a string of buzzwords to me. What are you saying? What narrative does Little Nightmare have and how is it expressed through its gameplay? All I recall is a cutscene at the start with a woman Kizuna predicts to be the mother.

It's not about cutscenes, it's about what the game conveys to you as you play it. Like how a defenseless creature running away from nightmarish ogres in a dimly lit room constitutes a narrative, instead of merely being the player pressing a key to avoid a fail state.

The devs at Frictional Games have written some articles on the matter that I've found interesting, I'd recommend giving them a read if you have the time. (Just replace the 0 in "blog").

Now, don't get me wrong. I understand it's a seiyuu giving this performance. This seiyuu might've even sucked a dick the very evening before she came in to work that day. My point is, how could a "virtual AI" be a member of a real idol group? If she can't solo (as seen in the Miku concerts) then I don't see it at all. What I want to know about Shiro is if she's a single person or if there's a big team behind her?
I mean Kizuna is the mascot of a multimedia group (or something like that). But despite the better looking intro Shiro just gives of the feeling that the entire thing is smaller.
That being said the amount of subs she got over 4 month is pretty alright. I've seen other channels that didn't manage 3k subs in longer timeframes.

Like, I'm pretty sure they beat the whole game in one go or maybe a week, but then they chop it up into parts, add voiceroid scripts, plus some editing....and then said parts are uploaded at a rate of one every 2 weeks or even a MONTH and thus the entire game can take up an entire season like if it were some broadcast anime

Hopefully they do a collaboration at some point (whether it be gaming or a regular video). It would be good for Shiro's channel growth and probably entertaining to see regardless.

The reason is also probably because it's a lot easier for a single person to do it. Editing is a slow and laborious process, and at the rate some of these idols put their work out, clearly have a team backing them. It's already been pointed out that while people don't talk about it much, Ai-chan might have some of the best video editing on YouTube with the amount of skillful cuts she uses to keep thing engaging. It's probably a good way for a lot of these smaller idols to build their audience outside the brutal machine that is YouTube, and allows the building of an audience with a more intimate connection the idol. As far as I know, Shiro doesn't do livestreams, but she does do a similar thing with the sheer amount of engagement she does via the comment section.

By the way, feel free to post links to smaller live idols too. Even if I can't understand them, it's interesting just to see all the unique designs they adopt.

It's a bit more complicated than that. Professional-looking cuts are a bit of an artform in of themselves. In Ai-chan's case, the cuts are actually use to accentuate the comedy. It's not just cuts either, it's also a lot of overlays in the style of Asian variety shows, music, sound effects, and there's also thumbnail art too. If you're just a single person, it would be near impossible to run an operation like Ai-chan does at the rate she does.

On the other hand, if you've got a situation where you can set up your virtual character just to have long form fun chats with the audience, it's much easier to for one or handful of amateurs to pull off. You just need a good media presence and an appealing character design then.

This by far has impressed me most with their technical proficiency. Their characters interact with their props, to the point where they can move or toss them around, have placards update their text, and even draw on a designated whiteboard prop. Too bad they only have a voice changer for one character. Their video quality is rather poor too, being a live on Nico Douga first before being ripped for Youtube.

Just a tip, the common naive idea of using premade anki wordlists blind is absolute shit. Finding new words naturally and adding them to an anki deck works MUCH better. There's a deeper connection of remembering the process of discovering and figuring out the word, rather than simply being shown it next to an "answer" repeatedly until you get it right.
It's common for people to have more success without anki than with doing anki using a premade list, and I think it's because if you have to choose one, it's more important to have that discovery process than the repetition. But if you're happy with your method, good for you.

FIrst off, I just want to express my gratitude for the OP returning "Kizuna" to the thread title. Finding the thread is significantly easier now.
I also want to say that now that Kizuna is playing Mario Odyssey, I'm significantly enjoying her videogame playthroughs again. The amount of progress she barely makes in RE7 and PUBG have made these barely enjoyable for me. Mario Odyssey is the best thing she's played in a long time I think.

I actually look forward to her videos now. It's been so long since I felt this way about her channel. I just found it to be a mildly amusing pass-time. Now I'm happy.
