wat?

Anyway, I'm thinking about how to solve a little problem I have with paying my rent for my dorm apartment before going home for Christmas.
It involves lending someone from my floor the key to my mailboks (and my room, derp), having him/her pay the money for me (I'll pay him/her first, I think), etc.
Internet banking is fine, but when I have to wait for a letter that doesn't show up before I leave for Christmas, it kinda sucks.

Mmmm... Curry. Although I'm not quite sure what differentiates Japanese-style curry from, say, beef stew with rice, aside from a different powder for the gravy.

Well curry is a mix of spices, it has nothing to do with gravy.
Each curry is particular as they all use different spices and amounts.
Ever notice how the curry from Indian places has nothing to do with the Japanese one or the Chinese one ?
Curry is just a generic term for a mix of a range of spices.

Curries originated in India. They just changed as they spread around the world according to varying tastes and availability of ingredients.

>>1789556

Curries are good stuff. There are practically any number of different varieties to choose from, since pretty much every culture that makes them puts their own spin on them. But they make a good, fairly simple, surprisingly hearty meal. Gotta like at least a bit of spice, though. Even the fairly mild Japanese curries have some bite to them.

Truth.

Japanese style curry is mediocre, but the thick, dark stuff is pretty good.

>> No.1789684

>>1789628

Hm, interesting. I've been looking for a curry mix that retains a relatively 'pure' flavor, but isn't especially spicy. Given that I tend to like curry, but have an exceptionally low tolerance for spicy food, it's a bit of a hindrance if I want to have some on any given day. Thus far, I haven't had much luck. I may have to end up making a mix on my own.

>> No.1789706

One of the greatest things about curries is its versatility. And this is especially true among Japanese curries. Besides just your standard meat/potatoes (like in OP), you can get anything from chicken katsu curry to an omelette curry.
