In case someone missed it a few days back, I'm making a VN. Some of the features includes:

- UBW installer! (Message already gave it to me since he thought this project has a lot of potential)
- H-scenes written with the help of Kinoko Nasu!

I am seriously making a VN.

Although the Mysterious Uguu~ girl won't be in it. Mainly because it was the first image I drew, I didn't plot anything deeper into it, it was only by the second and third Cirno image that made me seriously think "hey, I COULD actually make this VN" and decided TO FUCKING DO IT. I pretty much have the basic plot though out, and I have also written about 600 words of Day 1, but my main focus at the moment is the scripting engine.

Several engines like that already exist. The easiest to use is Renpy. Check out http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/Home_Page for more info.

Well, right know the engine is still rather limited, and since I'm mainly developing it for my own purposes, it probably won't be a good choice for other people. If you want to make easy VNs easily, I suggest looking into engines that can already do a lot more, like RenPy.

Why I'm not using RenPy, then? Because making a scripting engine is part of the fun for me.

But if you seriously want to make your own VN, I suggest something that allows for more freedom, since my engine is even in it's current version quite limited and that test version is even earlier version than the current one.

I could have sworn 7zip files were blocked. I spent a shitload of time trying different filetypes and methods when moot blocked APNG and archives. I'm pretty sure JPG+7z didn't work, I must have forgotten to check PNG+7z.

Also, lhz archives work fine and WinRAR opens them.

It won't be completely random like OMGWTFOTL and won't be an endless stream of gags and stupid memes. That would suck. Of course it won't be SERIOUS BUSINESS either (the story is unrealistic after all), but I aim for mainly subtle twisted humor.

Exactly like this, as long as you use a base image of 512KB or larger, you can embed anything. Although you must extract with 7-zip, because WinRar only seeks for header up to 512KB while 7-zip seeks up to 4MB. Or you could use LZH.

So current progress is that I've added some fading functions and things like key mappings, fast-forwarding, etc. various tweaking and expanding of the script syntax.
