While on the subject..

I have recently (9 months ago) been charged with "accessing child pornography" (1 count)
and "possession of child pornography" (1 count)

Both provincial charges, not federal.

I have a few options available to me:

I can stay and "face the music" as it were, but I am in fact guilty, and will likely face conviction with a minimum sentence of 14 days in jail, a criminal record and probation. I could possibly face worse, although this doesn't seem likely. I will also face judgment from members of my family that don't know (which is most of them) and likely have a great deal of trouble obtaining work for 7-8 years (untill I can apply for a pardon). Two very serious side effects.

I have discovered that due to the charges being provincial and not federal I would likely be able to move to another Province. There is a small amount of risk as local law enforcement does not enforce warrents existing in a different province (some sort of a legal loophole right now).However if caught again in my home province the outcome would not be good.

Another avenue available to me would be applying for a passport, which I have just done. There are no conditions in my release papers that state revocation/or refusal of passport. If I can acquire my passport I have the option of immigrating to Mexico under a work visa (FM2) I have a close family member there that can set me up with a rather lucrative job. There are virtually no repercussions to this as I am near untouchable in Mexico (Not even federal, let alone provincial warrents extend past the borders of Canada). However I would likely not be able to re-enter Canada for at least 5 years.

Any Canadian on here with legal knowledge would be an asset, as a second opinion is always welcome.
