At the end of the last chapter of Oriental Sacred Place, the three fairies seem to be trying to get along better with Reimu, and it ends with Reimu making them do her daily chores in exchange for protection, and it ends on a note that implies that the fairies now talk to Reimu on a regular basis and a happy end. Then four years later, the first chapter of VFiS shows them bombing Reimu, implying they still play tricks on her.
Am I supposed to think the last chapter of OSP was not meant to be canon and nothing like this happened to change their relationship over four years? This doesnt seem right.

The fairies are friends with Reimu, but they're still dumb fairies who like to play pranks. That's just their nature.

Reimu and Marisa say something during a flower viewing in VFiS to the effect of "the fairies are welcome at the flower viewing, I don't know why they're sitting outside and pulling pranks" while they are having Clownpiece mess with Youmu. So they're welcome, and Marisa goes to play with them in a recent chapter, but they're always going to be goofy tricksters and Reimu will always be kind of abrasive.

I don't think she'd let Clownpiece stick around if she wasn't friends with the others.

What if the fairies used Clownpiece and Cirno to create two interpretations of hell (fire and ice), mounted Eternity as a god over this new realm and acted put all their fairy faith to her so that humans would also be attracted to giving her faith, thus making her a super fairy god that could conquer Gensokyo for all fairies!?
