She can pass as a bootleg since she looks like a moon rabbit.
Butt where is she from? I have never heard of any 2hu related material mention the name Erina.

It looks like fun, I am certainly going to buy it when it goes on sale (I am a cheap motherfucker).

Sekai Project often publish VN's. They get a pass for once since the game is actually good, and
CreSpirit & GemaYue made many builds for for users who have a minor problem with the game. We don't get many indie devs that bust their ass the way they do for their product.

>> No.17698205

I started playing not too long ago, and I'm on chapter 1. I'm getting my ass handed to me by level 16+ bosses in the Sky Ruins, Twilight River, etc. Normal difficulty and standard mode.
Am I in areas I shouldn't really be at this point or am I just bad? What are some good setups available right now? How do I stop getting E ranks on everything?

>> No.17698552

>>17698205
There is nothig weird about the areas, so don't worry about that, as for the setups there ain't much you can use right now, but it's highly recommended for you to get some basic items:
The carrot bomb wich is in the starting forest right after you beat cocoa (if you already have then try to use it a little bit to level it up and reduce the delay)
Ribbon: she's pretty much needed for anything you want to do, so check the spectral cave and get her asap.
There are quite a lot of badges too, some of them are more useful than others, so keep bombing walls and suspicious places and equip all you can, just make sure to check the effects first.
and last, for the problem with the E ranks, best way to increase your rank is by using the light rod/weapong with ribbon, you should get it after defeating ashuri in the beach (I think you can see it in the top of the screen). Try to attack with ribbon all the time, since the game allows you to attack with her while you are using the hammer, comboing should be pretty easy with the light weapon.
As for the rest, just check the To Do list and do whatever it says.

>> No.17698796

>>17698205
You're not doing anything wrong, but I recommend you browse areas you've visited reeeeeally good for potions before you try to do anything on your list to ensure you're strong enough to take on bosses. A lot of rookies have a hard time dealing with them because they die too easily.

>> No.17701119

Some areas can be harder than others, but bosses scale to you. If you are having trouble with them, search for some upgrades, and don't rely on tanking hits, since it grows less and less viable as the game goes on.

Thanks for the info. I'm on chapter 3 now and I'm starting to get a feel for the game, but I still have some questions.
Is it better to prioritize offense or defense? This is my current badge setup, I swap out the attack trade for defense when I fight bosses. Also wondering about which upgrades are worth leveling up in the shop.
How big is Erina's hitbox? I know it's smaller than the sprite but I can't really get a feel for it.
How do I practice wall jumping? I can't do it consistently and I feel like it only registers when I'm not at the peak of my jump.

>Is it better to prioritize offense or defense?

Depends on your play-style imo. if you have a difficult time dodging attacks, I say defense is your best bet., but it's best to try to balance both of them as fair as you can. Keep an eye on your B. amulet stock in boss battles, and try not to use it excessively to dodge meaningless attacks if you want a higher rank. If you constantly get hit, you'll keep getting E.

>Also wondering about which upgrades are worth leveling up in the shop.

With your current setup, you should focus more on the Piko Hammer for more damage, Bunny Amulet to dodge attacks you can't get out of more often (because it charges extremely slow and I think you currently only have 2 chances to so it so far) and the Spike Barrier to prevent getting heavily damaged when you touch spikes. (trust me you'll need that on lvl 3) any other thing is fair game with Erina if you have the extra funds.

With ribbon, it's self explanatory since you only have 3 items you can upgrade with her for now, and will need her if you can't get close to enemies.

>> No.17703389

>>17702838
>Is it better to prioritize offense or defense?
As >>17702942 said, it depends on your play style, but sicne it's your first time lewd playing it'd suggest going for more defense instead of raw att since you still need to learn the patterns from most of the bosses.
For the badges, I would swap the ATK Trade oen for Weaken that way stunning the bosses and enemies becomes a lot easier; DEF Grown doesn't really do that much for you right now, it becomes really good after you can equip 10 badges but before that it doesn't really worth it, I would swap it for Mana Surge to spam more often with ribbon (trust me, ribbon' spam is pretty good in the long run) or swap it as soon as you get another good badge.

The shop will increase it' stock once you reach certain chapters, so it's fine if you keep buying the upgrades from it; if you are feeling weak try to farm some ED and buy upgrades from the shop, all items are worth being upgraded, so just go ahead for whatever seems more useful for you at the moment.
>How big is Erina's hitbox?
Press and hold the hamer button, after a few seconds erina's hitbox should be visible and will stay like that until you release the button, it also servers as a focus-like mode so give it a try.
>How do I practice wall jumping?
Best way is just by practice, if you want to spoil yourself a little about some "tricks" you could wach this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI9_gShAnK4

>> No.17705616

>>17702838
Offense by far. Bosses steadily grow in power each chapter, and the more you focus on defense over offense, the longer the fights take and the more opportunities you have to get hit and invalidate your longer health gauge. Final boss can only really be tanked if you get hit very sparingly and come equipped with all healing items. Some of the postgame bosses hit like a truck, and the final postgame boss is ridiculous. Using healing magic to actually heal feels more like an agony than something useful, since it deals so little damage and heals basically nothing - it actually grows less useful the more HP you have. And worst of all, postgame also weakens the halo effects, which is the only way to really play defensively.

Getting hit is a very bad habit in this game, especially if you want to keep playing it above normal difficulty, since higher difficulties buff bosses way further and don't have the halo buff at all.

I figured it out, it activates at ten. I was wondering if I needed ten or eleven badges for the healing carrots bonus effect of the defend plus badge to activate, was confused by the item description saying >10.
Also, when you say tweak settings and launch settings, what do you use? I'm on 1280x720 resolution and very low quality, with the default launcher. While I get 60 FPS most of the time, I still get framedrops in some rooms with lots of background eyecandy and enemies (i.e. Spectral Cavern, Nixie's room)

the effect of dropping a healing carrot and the faster recover only aplies when the amount of badges equiped is 11 or higher, these effects makes those badges worth it, before that, they aren't that great since the amount of damage the reduce/increase is 1 or 2 points per hit
