I prefer Remi x Reimu

And if you actually consider Remi x Sakuya "canon", then Remi x Reimu is just as canon, based on Remi coming to the shrine by herself for no real reason (not even tea drinking!) in both of Reimu's EoSD endings

>Aya: I wonder if people will be happy if you work hard and remain active in summer and reduce the heat.

>Letty: Oh, would that be good? That's what I'd like to say, but I manipulate the coldness. I don't want to be associated with a certain fairy that manipulates cold air.

>Aya: Isn't that the same thing?

>Letty: For those fairies, they are a small burden on nature. In my case, I'm a great youkai that lives in nature. When it gets cold, I'm happiest making it get colder.

Well unfortunately Cirno is, and I'm not LOLMEEMEEing here, the Strongest Ice Fairy.

She's leagues ahead of poor Letty in personal power, most notably exemplified by Cirno's omni-cold ambiance and that CIRNO DOESN'T MELT IN SPRING.

She's actually one of the strongest faeries in existence, but Faeries just don't get that strong.

If anything, Letty is the omni-cold ambient presence. Cirno is direct with her attacks, shooting ice and such.

Also, Letty melting in Spring was a fan idea. It's not confirmed whether or not it actually occurs.

Cirno's PMiSS:
"The cold is discharged limitlessly, and the space around her is always chilly. "

Letty's PCB Profile:
"When spring comes, she will disappear to unknown whereabouts."
Letty's PMiSS:
"After causing a thorough riot during winter, she suddenly disappears when spring comes.
It seems she hides somewhere until the next winter."

So she might not melt, but she's nothing near Cirno's "MORE FROGS MORE FREEZING".

Goddammit "yuki-onnas" are still faeries.

You know, Faerie is a very broad term, not limiting itself to what is more accurately identified as Pixies.

In fact, in Old English "Faerie" is essentially interchangeable with "Youkai".
The Seelie Fae would be "Yousei", though, with only the Unseelie being "Youkai".

In short, if you want to see the context in a GRIMDARK manner, it will seem like that to you. If you see it otherwise, it won't. And because of that, we have all these nice doujins that often feature multiple moods and emotions!

See, this is the problem with most "canon" Touhou discussions.

The Touhou world is inconsistent, but that also lets people run with their imagination. Why not just let other people have their won interpretations as long as it's relatively reasonable?
