News:
-Sara's Kai Ni is confirmed for implementation on September 11. There will also be new yukata CGs.
-The July ranking rewards have been distributed. The new items are the F6F-3N and F6F-5N night fighters of the US Navy. They are early implementation and an update will be carried out in the Sep 11 maintenance related to night battle mechanics for them.
-The Summer 2017 event is underway and is set to end on September 11. It is a large scale 7-map "what if" operation taking place in the west. The event name is Break Through to the West Once More! European Relief Operation. The main operation is four maps, while the extra operation is three maps. The new ships are Hatakaze(E-2 reward), Richelieu(E-4 reward), Sagiri(E-1/E-2 drop), Amagiri(E-3/E-4), Matsuwa (E-5 drop), Luigi Torelli (E-6 Drop) & Ark Royal (E-7 reward).
-More Kai Ni are planned for the latter half of the year. At least one BB and one CL will get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see something "interesting" regarding foreign ships.
-New Akizuki and Matsu-class destroyers are under plans to be added.

Jets are good for chipping since they can take out trash and PT boat. Don't expect good performance during LD though because there are more tsu class, so they get show down even more easily and you are at risk of losing them completely before reaching the boss.

AACI isn't that necessary because only node Q is threatening with air strikes.

As for LBAS, for chipping, send a full base of type 1 LBA against node T. The other 2 base should be fine against the boss.
The first base had a taitei + Hayabasu 64th + 2 34A, while the second base had Ginga, Nonaka and 2 other range 9 LBA

It was pretty hellish, but I had low expectations. Going into Ironbottom Sound I was happy just to get a few new girls. Then that moved to clearing E-4. I never thought I'd finish E-5 in time, but I did. I think hard mode and the medals have really poisoned people's impression of how this game is meant to be played. Especially for new players, where there's little purpose in putting up with the frustration on some maps. Just make your favorite girls stronger and have fun watching them steamroll a map sometime.

If anything it seems to me that being a newfag is easier than before, with kuso mode and QoL all around. The bad parts of the game have shifted onto veterans playing kou. I see plenty of newfags able to do full event clears and get rare ship drops.

When I started playing, AL/MI was my first event. Imagine starting with that event; I didn't get anywhere in it. I think the biggest hurdle for a newfriend is getting a leveled, varied fleet together. 3-2 was my first wall because "why bother with DDs thinking mentality" There was a lot less info on how to properly play the game at the time compared to now. And with pvp changes you can probably get matched against high xp fleets now, compared to before as a new player you would be put against lvl 10 ships. Overall the strengthening of fleet should be much quicker.

After playing an amazing game like F/GO and coming back to this shit, I noticed one main problem with this game

There's no real benefit to getting dupe ships. Getting 2 of any ship with good stats (but trash equipment) is a fucking waste and would normally get scrapped immediately. While in F/GO every card you get is useful. Especially when you consider how rare some ships are, farming for a particular ship is the worst feeling ever because for every n, the number of times you get a ship that's not the one you're farming for, is n a useless ship and you just wasted resources for no reason.

It's not enough to get much of anything unless you're incredibly lucky. I've rolled 781 quartz gained from purely playing the game and received no 5* servant. A nip streamed himself rolling 4000+ quartz trying to get a 5* on rate up and while he got others he didn't get her.
