News:
-Sara's Kai Ni is confirmed for implementation on September 11.
-The July ranking rewards have been distributed. The new items are the F6F-3N and F6F-5N night fighters of the US Navy. They are early implementation and an update will be carried out in the Sep 11 maintenance related to night battle mechanics for them.
-The Summer 2017 event is underway and is set to end on September 11. It is a large scale 7-map "what if" operation taking place in the west. The event name is Break Through to the West Once More! European Relief Operation. The main operation is four maps, while the extra operation is three maps. The new ships are Hatakaze(E-2 reward), Richelieu(E-4 reward), Sagiri(E-1/E-2 drop), Amagiri(E-3/E-4), Matsuwa (E-5 drop), Luigi Torelli (E-6 Drop) & Ark Royal (E-7 reward).
-More Kai Ni are planned for the latter half of the year. At least one BB and one CL will get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see something "interesting" regarding foreign ships.
-New Akizuki and Matsu-class destroyers are under plans to be added.

The farm is very relaxing (3 harmless nodes) and she has a 6% drop rate. I spent 0-1 bucket per run and took about 20 runs. Use as many Skilled Lookouts as you can.

So I finally made it to E7 by rushing non-stop for 1 week. I've heard and seen many horror stories out of E7 (one anon even gone mad and killed everyone recently). The thing is, I know I am going to do hard no matter what because I am a sucker. Some questions though:

3. Do I have enough p2w barrels? (I have 25) Is it mandatory?

/jp/, help. I have tried everything and still can't clear E2. None of the setups work. Equipment upgrades don't stop everyone from taiha. Route and boss support don't stop early damage. I have seen countless people make it through this map with worse fleets than mine. I'm starting to think that I have somehow triggered a glitch that makes it impossible to progress. I've been stuck on the last kill for 5 days now. I've spent 30k and almost 300 buckets and I still have not come even close to sinking the boss. I do not know how I can possibly be this unlucky when I use identical or superior setups as people who have cleared the map. Is such a thing even possible?

I already did last thread, there were no problems with it. It's the same fleet everyone else has used. Someone recommended trying 3cl for more night attack power and that hasn't helped one bit. The same fundamental problem still exists where I am guaranteed 1-2 chuuha before the boss and everyone chuuha or taiha before night. For the third time, amatsukaze is not in the fleet. Try reading sometime. I was using 2dd before the last kill because the map was comically easy. I was using murakumo then. I switched to amatsukaze to try something different because I needed survivability, not firepower. Someone recommended I drop the second dd entirely, so I did. I've been using 2cl since then if I use 1cv and 1cvl and I have also tried 3cl with 1cv. Unless you're suggesting that hatsuzuki is a shit dd, but I promise you she has not been the problem here.

After trying different setups I settled on chipping with CL/2FBB/CLT/2DD escort fleet. 2FBB basically immunises you against G and deals with asswall better. ABKM and 2 DDs holding OASW, you can take out 2-3 opening torps and if parallel you have a very high chance of chuuhaing cancer loli sub to avoid the closing torp. 1 full bomber LBAS to T, any more gimps you on boss too much. This has a very good chance of reaching boss but you most likely won't kill it, better than retreating though. I would take Yura out of flag, having your first shot of second shelling be CL single shot is just giving them a free turn.

No. Even if you reach the boss, you are still at the mercy of RNG and it depends how many Chuuha you got, as well as the LBAS performance.

For instance, I had wasted 10 Hayasui drums (2 per run) because the LBAS failed to take down both tsu early, so even the ginga base could barely deal any damage despite the chevrons.

The barrels are there to improve your RNG, but you don't automatically win.
Same goes with goddesses as they mostly help pushing, but it very rarely means your girl will manage revenge kill because there is no guarantee anyone will sink her.

Yukikaze was at full HP and tanked the boss like a champ. Abukuma was taiha before engaging the boss, but no one targeted her so the goddess didn't trigger.

The boss had 540HP and was alone when night battle started.
No night scout, but flare was triggered.
Result? Bisko scratched the boss for not even 50 damage, both Yukikaze and Ayanami got activated their TCI, but none of them dealt more than 100 damage each. Kitakami was in DA but she double scratched the boss.

Libe is good enough as long as she can OASW, Graf isn't that bad but you can swap her for a better CV if you want. Don't use any dahatsu ships here, daihatsu is important on E6 because of the ridiculous 2000TP bar, the map is a giant resource sink so you want as much TP as possible. The map is actually quite easy though so don't worry unless you're using really bad ships, E6 hp is probably the easiest boss kill in the whole event.

Aside from that one BB hime webm, all the fight scenes were great, off the top of my head: the yasen battle with searchlight, skilled lookouts, and flare, the aerial battle with faeries with puffs of smoke littering the sky and dynamic camera movement, Poi styling on the abyssals, all the torpedo cut-ins, Yamato blasting BB hime with APCI.

The plot was trash but the battles were legitimately a 10/10.
