Dear /jp/. After hating on Touhou for a long time I finally tried your games. I found them fun and like them... a lot. I still don't get the appeal of the characters and their frilliness continues to annoy me. Nevertheless, I'm willing to meet you halfway.

Don't worry, the chances are you'll find at least one character to like as you play through the games. I remember when I got up to Remilia in EoSD and for some odd reason I found her character premise interesting with the minimal dialogue. This was before I even saw any fan arts of her, meaning it was ZUN art with the funky hands included.

Why would ZUN even care about whether his human characters die of old age or not.
At some point in the future, ZUN will get ill and cancel all further productions and you know it.
I can already see it:

If Reimu falls, it wouldn't be surprising if Marisa decides to go down the same route as Alice, that or kill Reimu herself and keep her humanity.

She mentions somewhere in PMiSS something about the number of human burials decreasing, with a higher emphasis on cremation, and this may lead to a decrease in the number of youkai. This may be a commentary on extended food sources for the beasts, but it also may be a direct commentary since she later adds that "[however] even ashes may turn into a youkai."
