I haven't connected with many stories on the level i connected with Tsukihime. Evangelion is the only one i can think of that felt that real to me. It's only been a little over a year since i read the VN for the first time, and yet listening to the calmer tunes on the soundtrack makes me feel homesick, like i used to live with these characters and moved away. That's a feeling i only really get with Tsukihime.

Hopefully the Tsukihime remake will be nice, we'll see in 10 years when it's released.

I still enjoy Type-Moon works. Granted, the newer works don't have much of the same forboding, atmospheric appeal of the older works and I don't like a few entrientries here and there, but I can still find a great deal of interest in the Type-Moon universe whenever something new is made. The Tsukihime and first two Fate VNs have really memorable moments too. It's hard not to have your blood pumping for Nine Lives Blade Works after going through so many days of nothing but build up.

Honestly, I enjoyed the OST while I played but was a bit frustrated by how few tracks there were. Hearing these tracks again after so long really does feel nostalgic, you hit the nail on the head. I don't know if it was intentional, but something about the music is making me appreciate the value of a quiet life surrounded by people that care about you. I feel like it takes away some of the shame I feel when I'm not constantly chasing wild ambitions. I've gone through some Fate anime and Extra.

I'm going through Tsukihime and Fate Realta Nua and they feel a little different with how serious shit is. Tsukihime is particularly bonkers with the kind of shit Shiki goes through. They remind me of some parts of Extra and the Zero anime.

>> No.17488219

>>17484623
I felt Tsukihime dragged a lot. Arcueid's route had way too much exposition, Hisui's route was literally just Shiki stuck in bed for a week.
It nailed the dark atmosphere but I found Fate a lot more gripping, especially UBW.
I think having fewer routes but longer route lengths helps a lot.
Fate also developed its themes very well across the story. The climax of HF really encapsulates Shirou's development.
Compared to that Tsukihime's climax falls a bit flat.

No. Trash is trash. Modern Fate is absolutely not what Type-Moon used to be about. It's an entirely different work that directly goes against
what Fate/stay night was, and doesn't even bear a resemblance to Kara no Kyoukai, Tsukihime, or Mahoyo. Good for you that you enjoy it, but claiming that other people can't shit talk it because its very foundations are repulsive to them is a childish mentality.

I like the various series in VN/Novel/Manga form + FGO.
I dislike Prillya anime.
I get why people say "fuck fate give me turnkey/mahoyo" but I see aspects of the world building from both still and the occasional callback of sorts and that's what drew me to TM in the first place so I guess I don't mind as much. Like I would love to have the turkey remake out but at the same time I'm not overly angry about not having it.
I just like having a thing to read and having the various character interactions and slightly different mannerisms for servants based on which "version" of them it is is also nice.
I honestly would rather get a new Carnival Phantasm before anything else though.

You are 100% the worst kind of TMfag. Just a Fatefag who is fine with everything else being totally done and reduced to background references and side characters. You don't care as long as they keep putting out more Servants with the same gimmick, with Nasu occasionally writing for it.
No variation, no trying anything new, not allowing other parts of the universe to get the main role. No interesting new main characters, no core thematic differences (same old "heroism" and "power of humanity" shit), only changing the setting sometimes because the current fans don't give a fuck about urban fantasy, which is what all of the original works were based in. Cancer.

Everyone knows that the Fate characters generally have greater and more graniose powers(perhaps with the exception of Shiki, but he also has the extreme limitation of merely being human)than Tsukihime characters. There's no need to try to turn everything into a power level argument in an attempt to give more lure to your bait.

Also, it's not like it's any big deal if TH gets a remake or not, honestly. All it'll end up being is a reskin and perhaps new music or sound effects. Very little to no new writing to be had with that.

I wouldn't call Shiki's power grandiose, nor was I the one trying to start some powerlevel argument. Nasu made it perfectly clear that Fate>>>>>>Tsukihime and that humans and their strength will always surpass those in nature of the Dead Apostles.

Especially considering that he's removing certain DAA from the list and revising it as a whole. Can't wait.

>> No.17553857

>>17553799
But that's wrong. The Nasuverse was recently split in two because Nasu wanted to wank humanity as much as possible in a shitty mobile game about Servants. Obviously, that would lose value if there were inhuman monsters just as strong as Servants roaming around, so now those are all low tier in the Fate universe.

However, in Tsukihime worlds they're still just as strong as ever, and they're supposed to be counterparts to Servants in terms of power level.

There isn't much reformatting of the list that we've seen, either. ORT and Zelretch exist in both, probably just as strong. Primate Murder is still a thing. Nrvnqsr and Van-Fem are in Strange Fake (though that's an exception for the worlds, they're still canon). Wallachia, Gransurg Blackmore, Forest of Einnashe, and Rita Rozay-en are all referenced/shown in Case Files. There's so way they'd remove Merem Solomon either, considering how much background/lore he already has. Altrouge and her 2 other bodyguards will almost certainly remain unchanged too.

I really couldn't give less of a fuck about FGO trash, but most likely they'll just use extra magic fuckery to rayshift to an alternate universe, in Tokyo shortly after the events of Tsukihime R. You meet up with Arc and Shiki, maybe someone else from the gang. Fight a bunch of Servants, and then probably the real Primate Murder as Beast IV as the final boss.

Or they'll actually do something creative with an original story and DAA vs Servants, considering how much that event has been hyped up, but don't count on it. Low effort cash-ins are just that. I'd much rather any work put into that event be siphoned into the actual Remake.

F/sn uses the HGW as a backdrop for the characters and themes, which nasu excels at. All the other fate spinoff are just DUDE SERVANTS FIGHTING LMAO, which is fun but not as memorable. There's a reason why /jp/ has had fate threads like every day for the past 10 years.

Fate/Stay Night is different from the later spin offs of the concept because the everything in the story had a *purpose.*

The point of bringing in mythological heroes was to ask the question "What makes a Hero?" and tie it to Shirou's own character arc.

Even the magic in the story exists to advance the theme. It's not just there to look cool (though it *does*) but each character's magic abilities is also a reflection of their character and personality.

Takeuchi's art for the game was tragically bad. Even though Takeuchi was even then a talented artist, he was more proficient at drawing manga, not high quality CGs. The concept art was great, but the color, outline, and many other areas needed much more polish. But since Tsukihime was only a doujin game, the quality was considered acceptable.

With the release of the fan disc Kagetsu Tohya, fans noticed that not only were the CGs' lines more refined, but the coloring was also kicked up a notch. It turned out that not only had Takeuchi been practicing hard, TYPE-MOON had also hired two new staff members, Aotsuki Takao and Koyama Hirokazu. From then on, Takeuchi only took care of the initial sketch/concept art, while others did the coloring.

Around the same time, Takeuchi's art style began to take on its distinct form, similar to styles found in seinen manga. Some say this change was brought about by him trying to match his style with the world Nasu created. Some people complained about his characters' arms and legs being too long, but others simply credited it to Takeuchi's unique style. Takeuchi once mentioned his admiration for the works of Yasuhiro Nightow (creator of Trigun manga), and says his inspiration came from him.

Urban fantasy was the backdrop before shit hit the fan. The criticism toward a selfish Grail system which was spawned by shitty magi that disturbs their true roles and function of Heroic Spirits which FGO finally addresses in London. Of course it wasn't very polished but the art in Tsukihime went a long way to make me like the game. It had a certain softness to it that made me feel welcome and helped me grow very attached to the characters, and provided a nice contrast between the lighthearted portions and the serious portions. I always got a warm and fuzzy feeling when somebody's big grin sprite appeared and that one upbeat track started playing. FSN's art is technically superior but everything is too angular and nobody smiles very often, though some of the CGs do capture that Tsukihime feeling.

Their visual novels are far and away more enjoyable than of their work in other media. Type-Moon made me really enjoy "sound novels" as a subgenre for the first time, and to this day I try (unsuccessfully) to get people to try Fate/stay night unvoiced first, because the production values combined with the atmosphere created when SFX and music are the only accompaniment to the text and graphics makes it thrilling in a way I've never felt from a voiced game.

Of course, these days people new to the medium who want to "get into Fate" treat VNs like a fucking chore because they can't be bothered to read YA-novel-level text, so it's becoming a tough sell even with voices.

I also think Hollow Ataraxia is the best thing they've ever produced.

At the cost of sounding like a hipster, this is my opinion as well. The original system was pretty interesting and most of the heroic figures were there for a reason (a metaphorical link to legendary idealisms and betrayals). But since the concept was so interesting it devolved into mass producing characters and sexually suggestive designs with less and less narrative significance put into them.

That's pretty much common opinion though.
Among primaries, at least.
Yeah, originally everything was there to support the themes and character arcs of the story.
Now it's just 'what would happen if mozart fought joan of arc lmao'

Apocrypha is dull af precisely because Higashida doesn't this. Even Zero was able to do it pretty nicely. But now all we get is just buncha retarded servants fighting like it's some kinda rpg.

Fragments did it perfectly too. Too bad Manaka exists to fuck everything up.

The RPG shit was always a problem with Fate. It only got really bad when it stopped being ignored as the asinine autistic fluff that it originally was.
