Bernkastel is the most graceful, cute and charming character I've ever seen in my entire life. I really can't wait for more of here in the later parts of ep3 (now please don't crush this dream of mine).

>>1735124
Is there any confirmation that Lambda was trapped in the same way as Bern? If !nipaa's claim is correct, the only explanation I can think of is Lambda getting herself "famous" while Bern struggles with that only game.

>> No.1735258

>>1735235
There's no reason to think ΛΔ was 'trapped' in the game. After all, she was the one pulling most of the strings.

>> No.1735257

>>1735235
No confirmation as of yet

Some people think she was born from Miyo just like Bern was from Rika

!Nipaa thinks she is the embodiment of Higurashi's rules rather then a "persona"

I personally think she existed beforehand, and in addition to making and presiding over the gameboard she also "made" Takano Miyo as a mortal reflection of herself to use as her king on the chess board

>> No.1735268

>>1735257
Your theory is something I considered as well. How do you reconcile ΛΔ existing before Higurashi with the fact that she's said to be as old as Bern?

>> No.1735275

>>1735268
Did Ryukishi ever say something else for the witches other than "1000 years old"?

>> No.1735297

>>1735275
Rika used to call herself a 100 year-old witch in Higurashi.

>> No.1735292

Also, Bernkastel was created from Rika because Hanyuu transferred Rika's memories from all the worlds to the higher dimension where they ended up becoming self-aware. Since Droopy didn't have a god helping her, I think ΛΔ being the embodiment of the rules of Higurashi (but influenced by Droopy since she was pivotal in the setup of Higurashi) in the same way that Beatrice is said by Bernkastel to be the personification of the rules of Umineko.

>> No.1735303

>>1735258
>>1735257
Then for now, I'll stay with my thesis about Lambda acting outside the game while Beatrice acts inside it.

>>1735268
Chances are that witches may be able to manipulate time (with or without outside help). But I honestly don't think Ryukishi07 would put up with that.

>> No.1735307

>>1735268
I thought about that too and believe >>1735138 makes the best point. It fits in with what Beato boasts about "Endless Witches being those that have transcended the concepts of time", as shown by how she can simply make broken objects "remember" how they had been in the past and fuck over temporal causality.

Besides even if 34 and Bern were born at the same time. Higurashi takes place in 83, add to that the 100 loop and then consider Umineko takes place in 86. Thats a total of 106 years if you claim they have to follow the same rules of time as everyone else. And it explicitly states they are both a thousand years old so the numbers don't match up

>> No.1735313

Witches exist outside of time and space, so "1000 years" could just mean "1000 years worth of experience," it doesn't necessarily mean that they were around 1000 years before the game takes place. Of course, that's assuming that they exist in the first place.

>> No.1735330

>>1735292
I hope this is bullshit, because it sounds too retarded even for Umineko craziness.

>> No.1735325

>>1735307
>106 years
bah my math is off, 100 + 3 (86 - 83) = 103

>> No.1735333

>>1735307
But the worlds of Umineko are separate from those of Higurashi. After all, the story of Higurashi is a fictional work in Umineko. Since the witches exist outside of these world, it's easy to think that they've spent centuries doing other things between the two games.

>>1735330
Why?

>> No.1735348

>>1735333
like preventing boredom

>> No.1735366

>>1735333
That could very well be true, but if Higurashi and Umineko are different worlds with centuries in between then in "witch years" but still have the human world timestamps of 83 and 86 respectively that also reaffirms that witches exist outside a linear view of time. Which doesn't invalidate not validate either of our theories, guess we just have to wait for more canonical info

>> No.1735381

>>1735366
We already knew from Higurashi that Bernkastel (and presumably ΛΔ) existed for 100 years in the period around 1983. Assuming that the same thing applies to Umineko doesn't seem like much of a stretch.
