I just read the GHost93 translation notes, because i was interested in knowing what plot-wise was going on. It's still not very clear, so maybe someone can correct me or help me out to summarize the plot:

The first thing i didn't realized was that the 13 Commanders ("The 13") and the 13 Generals ("The Great 13") are actual two different kind of groups. And at some parts i think even the translation notes have them mixed up.
The 13 Commanders are a special military unit that works for the government (?) and they're basically the 13 Bosses from the previous timeline (Hacker9) - except Kunikida seems to be on the side of the 13 Generals here. The military was restructured to gain more power and suspended the 13 Commanders. They didn't liked that, so they besieged the IDC (i still don't know what this "IDC" actually is) as an act of terrorism.
The 13 Generals are another special unit that work for the military and they want to get rid of the 13 Commanders.

I still don't understand the role of Snort's group (including Chen, the Commanding Officer, the Executive etc.). Are they working for the government? Or are they some third party, that doesn't work directly for the government or military?

Anyway, in the endgame, you find out that in the IDC is actually the "Nine System" located - an AI that was created as a decision maker, but turned out to have a mind on its own and bad intentions. Chen and the Old Man Nine investigated the Nine System in the past and are now trying to find a way to destroy it.

Also, in the Level 5 scene, you see Sudou pointing a gun at Chen. What exactly is Sudou's role and why did he do that? I mean, they both want to destroy the Nine System, right?
And it also turned out that the whole terrorism act was only a cover story for the military, so the 13 Generals could nuke the building - including the Nine System. Since Kunikida is part of the 13 Generals, i assume that they know of the Nine System.
As far as a know, the Nichinan Heavy Industries used the Nine System as a tool. Are the Nichinan Heavy Industries working together with the military here to gain control of the Nine System again? If so, why did the 13 Generals wanted to nuke the building? Did they wanted to force a new timeline?

I probably got it all wrong, but i would be grateful for some clarification!

It's been a long time since I actually played the games, but I think Snort & co. were from Nichinan, on a mission to restore the servers in the IDC (data center) for migration. Chan was obsessed with the Nine system, and Sudou just stopped him mindscrewing Snort.

I don't think anyone besides Kunikida (and probably Chan) had any idea about the Nine system's destruction causing the timeline reset, and I think Kunikida actually tried to destroy it to confirm his doubts. There's more on this in G94

Also, the G93 translations are not the most accurate currently as I STILL haven't proofread the text, so there's that

>I still don't understand the role of Snort's group (including Chen, the Commanding Officer, the Executive etc.). Are they working for the government?

They work for Nichinan Heavy Indistries and are working in its best interests to prevent
an international scandal.

>Chen and the Old Man Nine investigated the Nine System in the past and are now trying to find a way to destroy it.

Chen thought Nine was kind of crazy, but then he became a bit obsessed with it.

>Also, in the Level 5 scene, you see Sudou pointing a gun at Chen. What exactly is Sudou's role and why did he do that? I mean, they both want to destroy the Nine System, right?

Sudou is there as a Systems Engineer, most likely due to his connection the the Commander (CO).

He was pointing a gun at Chan because he went AWOL and was messing with Snort,

>And it also turned out that the whole terrorism act was only a cover story for the military, so the 13 Generals could nuke the building - including the Nine System.

The Nine System would be collateral damage.

> Since Kunikida is part of the 13 Generals, i assume that they know of the Nine System.

Yes, due to (as you find out in Ghost94) the fact that he retains his memories from the loop world.

>Are the Nichinan Heavy Industries working together with the military here to gain control of the Nine System again?

No.

Someone in Nichinan contacted the military, and on the surface the military wanted to simply stop the terrorist incident. In actuality they wanted to cover up the evidence of collusion between the government and the Mainland, by sending in the 13 Generals and having them get rid of the servers containing the evidence and the Mainland representative by nuking the place.

While the military should be aware of the Nine System, I doubt they know it's intentions or it's powers.

I'll post some more translations I did in another thread.
