Just finish Hiroya's route.
If I didn't already have a bunch of screen shots I wanted to share, I'd have posted a reaction image with question marks. Demento said he couldn't accept quests, so why was he briefly shown in the real world and commenting that he came back from it? Suddenly there's magical shit, but it's not magic they say! Even Libera's stupid "Let's just lag the server to death" idea was better than this asspull. And more importantly, why did the errors in the script suddenly double when all the other routes were relatively error free?

Time to start Poyo-poyo's route.

Reminds me of something I was curious about, is the reason that a good amount of otome Vita games (even as far back as 2015) aren't ripped due to them being unrippable or something or simply nobody dumped them yet? I know nothing about how Vita piracy works, in fact when otome games started transitioning from PSP to Vita was when I stopped playing for a good while.

All the ones I looked up on amazon jp had pretty damn shit reviews (with a few exceptions, like Sidekicks) so it's not a huge loss at least. I'll probably end up buying a few eventually though.

Finished up Nise no Chigiri. The game as a whole actually wasn't too bad (with some routes being worse than others) and I'll certainly play the fandisc sometime. I didn't realize that I'm so sick of the "protag sent to the past" genre until I was playing this. Maybe I've just been playing too many of them in a short time span. Also, is it just a given in these types that one of the characters is secretly from the protag's world? Hope it wasn't meant to be a surprise either.

Saved the old guy's route for last and I'm glad I did since I enjoyed it the most. Well, looking back I'm not sure if the actual quality was above the others or if it was just because I liked his character, but oh well. My fear of it turning out to be non-romantic or something like that didn't come true thankfully. On the flipside, it seemed to kind of just ignore the age gap. A bit unrealistic, but I'd rather have that then some shitty drama. Anyway, he kind of made the game for me, and although I liked some others, if it wasn't for him I might have regretted spending time on it a little.

On a last note, I know a lot of games do the confessions towards the end of the routes or end with the characters starting to date, but I swear this game took it to an extreme. Not really a fan of the "confession, immediately roll credits, 10 line long epilogue" formula they had going. Thankfully there was enough cute stuff sprinkled throughout each route for me to not feel completely unsatisfied.

Next I'm trying Noise Voice of Snow, which has an artist that I really don't like, but interested me because it has a light/dark route system which can be cool, but more importantly the protag looks like a damn 8 year old loli to me. Though she's apparently 17. (Is it the eyes?)

How stupid or self-hating do you have to be to like stuff like Dialovers or Toma's route in Amnesia?

I'm genuinely curious what goes through the minds of these people. Like, it's not even kinky sadomasochism, it's a little creepy honestly.

I'd like to think no one actually enjoys this bullshit and the industry is just forcing it in.

I played Nose -Voice of Snow-. Genuinely don't know why I forced myself through all of it. I guess there were 2 factors. Firstly, there was a true ending that was locked. Secondly, I had read some (spoiler-free) reviews of it on various blogs/amazon jp before playing, and every single one I read had said it was better than they expected or they loved it.

If I were to describe it in one word, the game is very "cheesy". Having witty back-and-forths during battle, saying "bye bye" before shooting somebody, etc. So it could be a little cringey at times, but not to the level I couldn't deal with. The individual routes was where things got disappointing.

There are just so many weird things about this game. The subcharacter routes are meaningless and extremely short (I swear >20 mins). Vinny was kind of decent though. If they had actually fleshed-out his route and made it the length of the main characters, I might have really enjoyed it. Also, it felt like I was playing an all-ages version of a game that was originally R18. I mean every single route they fuck, it just fades to black. In fact every hero just wants to have their way with Mana so badly it causes shitty misunderstandings and drama during the routes.

I guess that was the main problem I had with the character routes, every one revolved around jealousy, trying to ~control themselves~, "h-he doesn't see me as anything more than a kid", misunderstandings, etc etc. Just not my cup of tea, although I know it is for a lot of otome readers, judging by how many people said they loved them. The only main(?) char route I ended up liking was Kamille, which is fucking crazy because I usually hate his type, so on that front I should probably praise the game. (I thought I'd love Seravis, but he was a little too cold even in his own route, which I guess is more realistic than doing a 180 but still.) I did like how there were a lot of bad ends, and especially how many didn't exactly pull their punches, which perhaps was one of the game's strong points. It kind of scratched my dark'n'edgy itch I sometimes get.

When you first open the game, you get a little screen saying not to tell anyone the contents of end 0 (the locked end), which just felt tacky to me. A lot of reviews said it would ruin what you'd read thus far. Anyway, it was a little too EPIC TWEEST for my tastes. Not to mention plain confusing as fuck. I don't think stories need to hold your hand and walk you through everything, but this was a bit much. I even bothered to look up explanations of it after I finished the game, and although I got the main points, there are still certain things that are unexplained or maybe just plotholes. Honestly, this sort of sci-fi genre shift is actually sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, but it just wasn't done well. On top of that, I felt like the "normal" plot had stuff that could be expanded on, so I would have preferred the writer to focus everything on either one or the other.

There are a bunch of other little complaints but they're not really worth the time writing. The music and voice acting was good, I liked Vinny and Kamille, Seravis was amazing in other people's routes, the common route was great, the light/dark route split system was kind of nice, and the protagonist was cute (but when I read "happy 17th birthday" in the opening scene I couldn't believe my eyes). It's not the WORST thing I've ever played, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

They probably just want to go after cheap doujin titles, but I can't think of any worth noting besides that one MG picked up. Luckydog1/Tennenouji technically counts I guess. Does Ayakashino count as BL?

There's also Vita ports. There's only so many to choose from and I doubt SP would put that much investment into BL anyway but:

>Dramatical Murder
Doubt it would be easy to obtain, and doesn't another company have the rights to it?

>Tokyo Onmyouji and Taishou Mebiusline
Would be disasters without a nerd on the TL team that would check if religious/historical things are TLed properly, and they definitely wouldn't invest that much effort.

I finished Period Cube and have to say it was a good game. It wouldn't be one of my first suggestions if someone wanted recommendations on otome games, though. Forte being important in a majority of the routes was great. To be honest, I only did one bad end, and the game doesn't really pull me in enough to do them all even though I'm a sucker for 'em. Might go back and do them, might not.

For Poyo-poyo's route, it feels like they did his last and started running out of time so they BS'd the ending as best as they could. All the other routes did a good job integrating all the other characters, but then in this one it's like they just threw everything out the window. The only good thing about the stupid reset fucking everything was seeing most everyone interacting or mentioned in the real life part. Oh, and the whole Poyo-poyo was Shiki's first gift to Kazuha was a nice small sort of twist. Now that I think about it, it kinda felt like the least romantic route.

Overall, I love all the characters interacting and Kazuha was a good MC. Astrum is by far best boy, with Radius in second. Everyone else is kinda hard to place with their ups and downs, though Poyo-poyo is most likely to be least favorite.

>>17054390
I agree with >>17060089
From what I've seen it's pretty okay, but Hiroya and Poyo-poyo's routes tend to suffer the majority of minor mistakes. To compare it, from my screenshots I took of Code:Realize, I had found around 25 errors. Period Cube had 19, excluding the weird part where Kazuha suddenly needed 80 exp to level up at level 1 for a short section of the game, it's always 27 at the most. I'm not sure what I would expect when Translation/Localization is credited as a company named Engrish Localizations.

You'd have more luck if you could clear the songs on expert as well since then you could do the tour event on hard mode, but with enough candies and lollipops you might be able to do it anyway. Also, you can use discs to double your points for ten minutes. If you're fast enough (as in, don't spend any time on choosing a support character or looking at the result after each song) you can clear four songs with doubled points. Don't waste them on healing your HP; if you get a gameover, just close the app quickly. You won't recover the lost LPs, but at least you can continue from where you left off.
Good luck, anon.

I was only able to get 2 copies of Banri. At least I could bloom him, but seeing "1/2" is going to tickle my autism. That's the one thing I don't like about this game compared to the similars I've played, that you need 3 copies of a single card total if you're a completionist.

On another note, oh man this update. The blooming page is so much neater now, plus the auto button stays on between practices. I'm in heaven.

I've considered translating short things like SSs and other supplementary material but 1) anyone interested in a game's supplementary material would know Japanese, and 2) I'm not comfortable phrasing things in English. The only English I really ever read is shitposting on 4chan.

Played Senbura a bit. It's okay.

Battles are super relaxes since you can skip them which makes them take 10 seconds. Also super easy if you upgraded your units, even if they're three star.
Upgrading units is pretty damn easy.
5 stars are pretty hard to get with 1,5% gacha rate.

Awakening an unit is easy, just upgrade them a lot. But honestly, most of the awakened art is worse than the original since it's mostly hair color swaps to worse colors.
Each character gets a fully voiced scene with a nice biting CG when being awakened.
4 stars and up cards also get fully voiced romantic scenes are getting upgraded.
CGs generally look nice, but the ones that I've seen in the story parts are way lower quality than the rest of the art which is a shame.

The story is okay I guess?
Right now there's 4 chapters for each group of guys. One chapter takes me about half an hour.
I played the Toyotomi chapters, first chapter of Nobunaga and the introduction story for all of them.
Generally, it's interesting to be able to be the MC in different groups that fight against each other. The stories also feel pretty different depending on the groups.
But other than that it feels pretty generic. The only thing I see that could be interesting is the relations between the characters and the cute boys themselves.

tl;dr gamplay is easy and fast, story is as expected mobage-tier. Only worth it if you're really interested in the boys.

I'm almost fully convinced that Idea Factory just saw Swords and thought that they could make a better version, so they took some rejected Hakuoki concepts and got to work.

Other than that it's not bad. The mini-stories with the guys are pretty cute, and sometimes I end up staying on the story select screen to listen to all the group themes.
