The game is こもれびに揺れる魂のこえ. I was planning on playing it before Nanatsuiro because they supposedly share some characters, though I'm sure it's nothing but a small reference or two. Didn't get very far because at least from what I played the beginning was a bit too slow-paced to hold my interest.

Her VA being one of my favorites, Hokuto Minami, was another reason I tried it out. Voiced Kimika in Subahibi and Miyabi in Kanishino.

>> No.16993593

I've started that "magician on paper". Chapter 1 was quite fun. I especially liked how the "typical and lame" result that was talked about there was something I'd totally expect a typical VN to have.

I've heard about the author doing a lot of things that aren't too typical in VNs. Maybe this is really someone who likes the medium and what it enables, but really dislikes what's mostly done with it.
But regardless, it's fun so far. I heard it's long, which is my only worry so far. And maybe that Rio is a bit.. I don't know. She lacks the multiple layers that the other characters have so far.

Playing the remake? What's it like? The only thing I know about it that it used to be a hit back in the day but overshadowed by YU-NO as the best 90s-ge. And people still bring up YU-NO consistently nowadays which makes me think Eve just didn't stand the test of time. Willing to be convinced otherwise though

I find the fact of how a single change turn Tamaki from the most hated heroine in her game, to the top three most popular heroines in the entire series, beating Mizuho even if just by a small margin, funnier. DMM proves that, if Tamaki is given treatment like other main heroines in the series before her, she would be as popular as the other four heroines, and Elf wouldn't take a huge blow to the gut.

No use crying over spilled milk, but still, this is an interesting case to observe.

Because some people knows what she does in her own game, and they still made fun of her, yet here we are with Tamaki on the third place on the popularity poll. Maybe the silent majority of newer players that don't jump on Tamaki's hate bandwagon likes her and wants to end the hate, maybe those who knows and making fun of her just do it for fun nostalgia drama like what >>16993947 said and probably secretly like her too, or maybe I'm a fucking moron because taking imageboard posters as majority of the players.

It's really really good. Like, really really, really good.

The remake is perfect outside some really small nuances, like the added CGs no matching the original game's art style.

But that's just a minus, the game is just incredible. If you can get to play it, you definitely won't regret.

It's so hard for me to like MCs (especially in VNs/japanese media), but this game nails it so hard it's insane. I had to take breaks out of how good they were. Get the R version if you can

You the guy who tried but didn't make it through Unmei Yohou? The quality of non-drama stuff is better this time, just beware of how long the whole thing is. Each arc is has its own mini conflict-climax-resolution story so it's easy to get a kind of story fatigue if you binge the whole thing.

Nah. This is the first time I'm reading something from this author.

I was also already thinking about not just reading that and maybe having something at the side. I usually don't do that as I tend to just focus on one in the end anyway, usually the shorter one, so that would kinda defeat the purpose. But I do have some things I started and left hanging at some point. And some fandisc could work as well. The one of pic related is something I wanted to read at some point anyway..

Fair enuff. Paper Wizards is probably appropriate enough for putting on hold and coming back to in chunks, and there's people who might also say the story "ends" after chapter 4. I'm not one of them, but hey.

I should try and get back to Daito myself actually, I remember getting upset I couldn't climb those mountains without unlocking her route first and put it on hold when I finished the common route. Liked it a lot, but having to switch to a different girl was a real momentum killer for me.

Glad to see my guide was of use to someone. Clubbox is the last resort so I don't think you'll be using it in most cases unless you have many old and obscure titles on your list. I would check out PD as well because it's easy to set up if you know how to forward ports and files are generally available. There was a patch that killed the 20GB cache requirement but it's not available for the latest version.

I plan on writing a more general guide on searching for Japanese stuff.

I tried to set up PD but I am just getting ポート解放は未確認 (port not confirmed). And I did port forward the port on the settings screen (or at least I'm pretty sure I did, my router is a little weird). After searching warosu for a while I found some people with the same problem but no solutions except putting the router in DMZ mode which apparently is very bad for security. Any ideas? Sorry for the trouble.

>> No.16995358

You definitely fucked up the port forwarding (or maybe you didn't add any nodes)

If your router supports it, try enabling UPnP and add a mapping using one of these tools:

https://upnp-portmapper.sourceforge.io/
http://www.xldevelopment.net/upnpwiz.php

Set external and internal port to the same one and set that port in PD, try restarting it too.

Unfortunately this router does not support UPNP. But I actually did port forward right, the problem lied in me trying to use PD on my Clubbox VM. I bit the bullet and put it on my real PC and it seems to be working now. Only issues are that the Unity download is still pretty slow, I don't know how the search function works (only 300 files available total?), and I can't figure out how to get it to update, even though it says it does it automatically.

>> No.16996050

>>16995843
Yes, VM is the problem because it usually uses NAT. If you're using Virtualbox you can set up the VM port forwarding under Network -> Advanced. So you need to forward ports on the VM and then the VM's port on your router.

You will see more results if you keep it running. Mine is at 33000 files in total. I don't think the "global" search displays all files on the network right now because 30000 seems a bit low to me but the keyword search is generally reliable so if you don't get any results for your query after a few minutes you can assume the files are not on the network. Way better than Share's search for which you need to set those stupid triggers that scan the network all the time and add files matching the query to your downloads.

It will update itself after you restart it, IIRC the update download progress should be visible under downloads.

https://mega.nz/#!ZhVSGQBT!F_hws70OnJFcCqQkUj14Z1NV8TpusZiHeaWEqYQ34UI

Here is an archive of (almost) every eroge thread on /jp/ to date in .html form, going back 7 years to mid-2010. It has thumbnails but not full images, just created by saving the html of each thread from warosu. Backlinks might be doubled if you are running 4chan X or another extension, one set of links works across the .html file while another will link to warosu. I wanted to mine all the past threads for DDL links to potentially rare stuff, so I thought as long as I was doing that I would compile this for anyone interested.

I say an archive of "almost" every thread for a few reasons. Those of you who have been around a few years will remember that until early '15 this place was not called "エロゲスレ" but "VN General Thread". So the name change produced a few hiccups. And in addition to that, the further you go back the more integrated English translations were into this thread - as far as I can tell there is no clear demarcation between originally both being allowed to today's strictly Japanese only. Also, whenever the OP was made by a fool who forgot to enter the subject or accidentally put it in the name field, that didn't show up in my searches, so I just had to find those manually whenever I saw a suspicious date gap between threads. Thus there is a high chance that there are several threads I missed here and there.

And because I did this all manually, there is a pretty high chance I screwed up once or twice and input the date for a thread wrong (something like 2014-03-31 instead of 2013-03-31). So there may be a mislabeling here and there. Finally, the further you go back the less of a regulated general it becomes and the more it becomes a smattering of sporadic threads. Around mid-2011 it starts getting hazy as to what is and isn't a past edition of "this thread". So I just used my best judgement as to that. Anyway, though, this should be a pretty complete archive of everything up until now. So use it for what you will.

IDK lad, what kind of information do you want? So it has pretty good main characters, I do believe both writing and pacing is very good as well.

The writing imho is very mature, as in, you actually believe the people talking are adults in their respective positions. There is a certain...grip to it. I can't explain, but the characters just feel very individualized and real overall.

There's both male and female protagonists in two different storylines that intertwine which is pulled off very well too.

As far as the pacing, the game happens in just a couple of days. Like 4 or 5, but A LOT happen within those days. Like, in a single day you feel like a whole week was crammed into it. There's shit happening the whole time. Quite honestly, imho it's one of the better parts of the game.

I tend not to give too much info because each person will have her own taste, experiences and standards as to what they like, but overall I don't think you'll be left off disappointed if you just expect some good time out of a game. You'll get that much I can assure.

Oh, and as for how fresh it will feel... It will feel fresh if you have been playing games that feel too... "anime", for lack of better term. Chuuni stuff or just characters that act in a way that you'd expect inside the medium. So It depends on what you've played so of course I can't tell that much. If you want a mystery/detective plot that is quite well pulled off with the setting, characters feeling real and close to what you'd expect them to act IRL then you'll get that.

If all that doesn't seem attractive or you think you've experienced better elsewhere then you can just move along I suppose. Not much else to be said there

It's a moege, but the sex scenes aren't well spread and you usually get all of them with almost no pause between. The weird sexual stuff are mostly kept in the dreams. The sadism is just some light spanking, but if you're not into pissing you probably won't like Shigure's route. The part about the dreams that is actually unpleasant to watch is when the girls and the protag dream about turning into dogs. It's not funny, just really gross. I'm currently on Yui's route and so far she is the only one of the girls that I really care for (already did the other 3 and Mikoto is locked until you do the first 4). One thing that really bothers me is that a lot of Marina's lines sound really bad, like she was too close to the mic.

>> No.17002127

Hah, Paper Magicians chapter 3 was so weak. I don't know what the author was thinking, but that chapter makes no sense in an eroge with routes.

First of all, it makes no sense if the protagonist is already in love with someone before the route-split. You know that's gonna change at least for several routes, so whatever is before is obviously not really mattering, fake, not "100%" or whatever you want to call it. Chapter 3 goes on and on way too much about that which just ended up being annoying.
Also having a heroine die before she had any sexscenes is not happening in eroge either. At least not at such a point. So the impact of that is exactly 0, and it just feels like random bullshit that I can't take seriously.

That chapter felt so pointless starting from around the middle, and as such also way too long. Unfortunately it also seems like things will still be influenced by this for a while. I hope it gets itself back on track.

>> No.17002250

I completely disagree. Your complaints seem to be basically that this setting and turn of events isn't allowed in eroge. But as the famous saying goes, ギャルゲーにはルールが二つある!それはヒロインが可愛いこととルールに縛れないことだよ! KimiMaho is very unique and breaks away from the generic setting and structure of most eroge, and that's part of what makes it so interesting.

>> No.17002282

>>17002127
What the hell kind of argument is that? It's like saying the conflict halfway through a movie sucks and lacks tension because you know there's still 40 minutes of runtime left. How can you even get through fiction like that?

And what do you mean, it makes no sense if the protagonist already loves someone? I mean maybe he'll change his mind later, he's free to do that, but right now at this point in the story it's a major part of his character, her character, everyone else's interactions, and the plot.

Besides, what if you're wrong?

>> No.17002288

It's not about "not allowed". It's about "not working". As, again, none of these events matter. I know it already because I know the medium an what it brings with it. Most should know the very same thing, honestly.

So the second half of that chapter simply doesn't work, as you essentially know already where it'll lead to anyway, while the game acts as if you don't. Sure, maybe you don't mind that, but I think that's a pretty big issue. For example something like death should leave a little more of an impression than "yeah right.. as if".

'Prequel', as they have the same setting and has references to chocolat, but it's kinda bland and not really worth doing, only route I liked was Aoi's (even though her voice acting sucks and every time she cries it's like she's laughing) and she gets shafted hard for Kanako, whose true route I ddin't particularly like.

Asking here too since it's probably more related than on /djt/

Approximately what level (by any metric be it JLPT or being able to understand another work) do I need to be in order to properly understand SubaHibi in Japanese? To be honest, this is my fault, but in a way there's no "correct" way of going at VNs.

My main issue of the chapter is something that would not exist if I hade never looked at a walkthrough to see how the game is structured. However I got burned so often for not doing so, that this has simply become a habit of mine. After thinking a bit about it, if being already on an enforced first route is a possibility at that point, all the dating and romance stuff and such is fine in the second half of the chapter. But because I know that it's essentially common route, I also know that this stuff is ultimately just temporary anyway and is mostly there for plot reasons, so a lot of that felt unnecessary to me and dragged out.
For me dates and the typical romance stuff doesn't work, when I know this has to be a plot-setup for something to follow anyway, after all if that wouldn't be the case, there couldn't really be different heroine routes. The way the plot is set up, it didn't sound like it'd possibly do something really weird, seeing how already the whole "if we still want to do this after we graduate from school" was going on, pretty much implying that not going that road is going to be a thing. I like the plot. But the pacing was really not my friend there.

Well, this isn't the game's fault. I didn't think of this possibility when I wrote it, and just wrote down my impression. Also in addition to that I seem to have written things rather badly as well, making it feel like I'm denying the entire plot, plot-points or something like that. I don't. But that's my bad.

Now for the second part, this isn't quite so bad I'd assume. Still, it was rather cringy when that "epic" music started playing and the protag gets this idea of her being maybe not dead or something, while laughing like a maniac and considering himself having perhaps gone mad. I suppose it could've been a lot worse. Hitting the right balance there is a bit hard anyway. The protag doesn't know the same things I know after all. (like for example having seen some promo cg) Plus different people like this differently as well.

At least I did better than last game, I guess.

But seriously that was amazing. I was wondering why everyone says this game is so much better than the first one, and then I reached Chapter 5 and it was absolutely incredible from then on. I don't think I've seen such a rapid swarm of revelations before in a VN, each one cleverly foreshadowed in the previous chapters/game and you realise the amount of meaning and relevance poured into each previous seemingly fun scenario. When Omaru starts to fade away and you're just wiping away your tears, and then Mutsuki appears and it fades to the credits, holy shit that was so well done.

It's really awkward if you actually see something coming way too early though. I myself only read one route of Himawari because of that till now. A certain bad ending in the first route made me realize a certain something that seems like it'd be the big twist in the last route or something.

So while I (obviously) also like twists that make sense but I didn't see coming, I feel it's also a double edged sword. But that's mystery for you. I rather take that then just twists that you can't see coming because of withheld information or something.

Which one? I can tell you if you're right or not if you want, since I personally loved Himawari and would heartfully suggest playing through it and its fan disc.

Also the last route of the main game in general has the lowest amount of big plot revelations if I'm remembering right. It actually feels kind of silly in that regard.

So you only read the prologue and have no confirmation whatsoever? That's not "seeing it coming", that's just dropping a game randomly.
Himawari isn't a "omg bricks" game anyways, so no matter if the guess is correct or not it doesn't change anything in the fundamental experience. Though judging by how shallow of a reader you seem it's likely best if you stay away from it, it's probably not something you'd enjoy.

>> No.17006206

The first route is a lot about the protagonist remembering something about a sister of his with red eyes, and whatnot and she supposedly died. However based on a bad ending, I'm pretty sure Asuka is said sister. I don't know what she did with her hair and so on and so forth, but even the sister's sprite in the specials you unlock for completing bad endings and such have the same "poses". I was pretty confused when I first read some of those specials because the sister reminded me of SOMETHING, but once that certain bad ending came, I just realized what's.. most likely.. going on.

That said, don't worry, I'll be continuing it. I've read a route of Island and ended up liking it enough to go back to Himawari to read all of that first. While that failed a little, it's not like the game is only about mystery or anything anyway. For example, who doesn't like girls puking on your face? Or a crazy military "fan" rocket tinkering dude? Still feels a bit like a bummer, especially because I really didn't want to read bad endings at first, because the first one or so I accidentally got (I think) already felt too spoilery for me. But then I wanted the unlocks...
Well, ideally it's no big deal. Who knows, maybe it's even revealed the moment you start the second playthrough, and I'll feel like a big idiot.

Another guy from the one you replied to, but I actually had similar, though slightly different kind of "I hope I didn't accidentally spoil myself" suspicions when playing Himawari due to knowing the fan disc is named Aqua After. Since her name is written アクア and the name for Aoi in Youichi's memories (before her actual reveal in Aqua's episode) also had intelligible three ○○○ letters I was expecting a twist where Aqua was actually somehow Youichi's sister. I also didn't look at walkthroughs so I had no idea that Asuka's route was the last one. Needless to say those theories were dispelled the moment I started the next route like you said.

>> No.17006377

>>17006271

I think you really look way too strongly at this. I doubt my idea is much of a coincidence. Though it does seem to be wrong, that was simply a desired effect of the author for people ending up thinking that.

Plus, in my case I like breaks at fitting points. (i.e. after a route) I do that all the time. For example, I've read the second Leyline half a year after the first Leyline. The third Leyline I've yet to read. Not because I hate the series, or whatever. I sometimes just like a break. Especially for things I like. It's not running away, like that I have a bit more of it. You know, knowing there's something good waiting to be read at any time isn't such a bad feeling.

At some point I then just naturally feel like playing the next part. For Himawari that's actually happening right now, which is why I even brought it up. People are different there, I'm sure. Some like to binge. Some like to spread. And I never dropped Himawari. I just left it for another day. (Which is why I initially posted "read till now", which kinda implies that will change)

There's reasonable predictions, then there's silliness. This guy said he predicted what the potential twist in a final route would be so I gave him the benefit of doubt and thought he had picked up on a tiny bit of one of the actual puzzle pieces, turns out he made up a C tier tweeest game in his mind and missed all the foreshadowing that mattered.
>>17006377
>that was simply a desired effect of the author for people ending up thinking that.
It wasn't, at all. You just grasped thin air and made something up out of preconceived notions.
Anyhow, Himawari is not a game where you want to have big gaps and it kind of defeats the point (unless you wrote notes or something).

I dunno, ero on the extra menu always makes me feel a bit dirty, like I'm the bad one for deliberately seeking out lewds that weren't 'necessary' enough for them to include it in the story.

Which is of course a retarded opinion to hold, I mean I'm still reading porn powerpoints here, pretending like it-can't-be-helped-it-just-comes-with-the-story doesn't even pass muster as a cheap way to feel above it all.

But still, putting it outside is a way of making it clear that the porn isn't needed, and I can see why that might not be wanted. I know I personally have a weird relationship with the ero in eroge, I expect it but don't necessarily want it, but if it's not there it's an insult, but if it's there I'll usually skip it or roll my eyes and giggle at it. Any decent therapist would have a field day with my thoughts on the topic.

But anyway yeah. Mostly it just bugs me they can't keep shit consistent. I'm not an ero-moe guy, so if you start off cute then keep it cute, there's no such thing as a cute ahegao in my book.

Has anyone here ever played anything from the Tantei Jinguuji Saburou series, known in the west as Jake Hunter? It has quite a history, going back 30 years and over a dozen separate titles, starting with https://vndb.org/v5962.. I have heard a few good things from random Japanese sites, in particular the later entries on DS and specifically Akai Chou (https://vndb.org/v5993).). From what I can tell the only westerner who has paid this series any significant attention is the vndb user ilovekisetu, so maybe I should just ask him directly, but I thought I'd ping you guys on it first.

I'm kind of disappointed that there's no scene where the protagonists deduce the true culprit and point it out like "The culprit is you!". Also they never managed to investigate into what exactly the C project is or had an encounter with the true culprit/personality.

I only wish they give all side characters like Marika's parents unique sprites. If they bother to give them voice, why not go all out and give them sprites too, or even CG where they eat dinner together? Bonding with the girl's family is as important as the girl itself.
I would like to see a heroine's father in romance VN that doesn't hate MC's guts at the start though, or even friendly and accepting the fact that his daughter is dating the MC. Typical heroine's mother usually easy to accept that their daughter likes the MC, some even outright ships them with him, unless the heroine comes from a strict family, but it's rare to see heroine's father that doesn't have the overprotective dad trait.

>I would like to see a heroine's father in romance VN that doesn't hate MC's guts at the start though
Chuuni's dad in キミの瞳にヒットミ was the high point of that otherwise depressingly forgettable game. Turns out he's where she gets the whole chunni act from, and when she brings her new boyfriend MC-kun home he's glad his daughter has found someone decent who also humors her on the DARK LORD stuff, and then makes up an excuse to leave the house overnight so you two can bang, as he wholeheartedly approves of the physical aspect to healthy relationships.

Shame he's only in like two scenes because he was real cool. I briefly hoped there'd be some story behind it like he was a stay-at-home husband doing the chuu2 schtick to feel less emasculated, but the whole game was a constant stream of lukewarm letdowns so I dunno why I thought good things would happen.

Sure, since in romance VN, most of them are either not appeared or mentioned at all, those that mentioned either missing or dead, living on somewhere else like working overseas, or only the mother shows up, or the father is a useless living being that doesn't even have any traits of a head of the family, making the player wonder how MC's mother likes him in the first place.

It kinda fell on the same way/path chaos;child did on true end when on true end arc you go away from the MC's perspective to jump on someone else's and see the stuff from their eyes

it really is a shot in the dark doing this stuff because you dont know how the reader will react...

because you are so immersed into the characters you played so far, you want to finish the game on their perspectives

if you jump out of it, it feels like you're left behind or something, idk

but it was really good, i liked the game.

What the hell is there to anticipate in a moege? One CG of a girl standing at a dutch angle while smiling? The rest of the CGs of girl getting fucked missionary or doggy style? Because that's what most sets are, just generic CGs copypasted from any moege ever.

Getting to see the girl you like naked, duh. I'm not sure how that would be better if it was S&M shit or back-of-the-kneejobs or whatever. If your complaint is that there's no variety, I guess that's valid, if missing the entire point.

I'm not pretending it's high art but like virtually anything else, a little buildup makes the payoff nicer. If you're reading moege as a cheap, junk food substitution for relationships, then looking at the CG sets just doesn't cut it.

I finished Chinatsu's route in Baldr Sky

pros:
- the GOAT ideologies are the ones that make the most sense to me, and it was nice to see things from their perspective, got me to agree with them more
- The final chapter was pretty fucking crazy, i love when shit goes off the rails
- it made me realize how much i like best friend characters like Masa, i felt bad when he died desu
- the final fights had vocal songs accompanied to them, which added a lot of hype and also made it easier to get in the zone when you try fighting the bad guys

cons:
- Although Chinatsu was pretty cool in the beginning of her route, I ended up not really liking her in the latter half, and didn't really care for any of her 'problems'
- It was amusing how quickly Kou changed his mind about the Ark industries in the final chapter, and that whole sort of thing was kind of weird to me, but it got a lot of fights and made the final chapter really feel like a 'final chapter' so i didn't really mind

Here's how i'd rate baldr sky routes in general:
chinatsu > rain > nanoha

Better as in better suited for your supposedly more appropriate interpretation of his and my post. He seemed to be concerned about EGS not having enough information to help him classify whether or not a given game is a nukige in disguise, and that is incorrect. He can find this information through either the labels in my first post or the more detailed tagging in my second post. I was not trying to show that EGS's had equivalent detail to VNDB's tags, but rather that it has sufficient information for his purposes of classification. From my point of view it looks like you took his words literally whereas I better addressed his underlying misconception.

>> No.17027459

>>17027411

There are actually even more tags about this. I think there are like.. 3 or 4 tags that go from "sex is completely unnecessary in this" to "there's nothing else but sex".
In addition it includes votes about how much people cared about the ero in average. In part showing the quality of it, but also how important it is in the overall story.
And finally there are many reviews.

The problem of EGS is not that you can't find things about specific VNs. The problem of EGS is that you can't find VNs based on what you want. Or rather, it's very hard. You can search by tags, but especially for known VNs they get tagged for extremely minor things. Because it's also always opinions. Vndb obviously works the exact same, but not that many people tag and most tags exist for good reason. It's also way more powerful for searching games with specific characters, which isn't very opinion based. For example EGS has "heroine with black hair", but no other hair colors. And that's the last color that needs a tag, given that 90% of all VNs have at least one heroine with that hair color.

>> No.17027512

>>17027459
I have no issue with everything you said here, and again, I'm not trying to say that EGS's tagging is better than VNDB's tagging. They both have their ups and downs. The only thing I took a little issue with is you (or maybe you're not the anon I was responding to, in which case, him) insinuating that I comprehended the original post incorrectly when it should be a valid interpretation, because what better things can I do with my time besides defend my admittedly not fantastic reading comprehension skills on an anonymous imageboard?

>> No.17027565

>>17027512

Nah, I'm another anon. I simply use vndb myself for finding stuff, as for example if I'd want to get games with blonde girls in it, EGS can't help me. Or a specific setting. Even genre-wise it's easier to use vndb, because of better tag filtering.

But once I find games that seem interesting enough I switch. And I do think that's one of the better ways of handling this. EGS and vndb both have strengths and weaknesses, and I figured I'd point that out. I'd actually like if vndb would take over a few features from EGS (and wise-versa) but that won't be happening. For example I really dislike how vndb dumps all releases of a game onto one game entry. It fucks up everything, but apparently the admins of vndb like that.

>> No.17027698

>>17027565
>For example I really dislike how vndb dumps all releases of a game onto one game entry
Can you explain why? I think it's an excellent solution to most VNs having multiple releases without cluttering up the database with tons of near-duplicate entries like EGS does. I would say I prefer VNDB to EGS in almost every way except that EGS has a review section which is nice.

>> No.17027819

>>17027698

Because it makes the tagging meaningless.

Tags are for each VN entry. In other words, they should theoretically apply to the whole entry. But take console ports. They remove the ero content, so all ero related tags are not applying to it. Not let's assume it adds another heroine. So all tags applying to that heroine and her route do not apply to the 18+ PC version.

Character pages also get messy, as you get character attributed to "main" in certain releases only and such.

I don't think this makes sense. Especially with rather heavy cases of the likes of Sengoku Koihime even needing different lengths and such. If you look at that VN entry, you just see how messed up things are. Length is >50 hours which should only be the case for the X version, but there are no ero related tags at all. "no sexual content" was downvoted because of the X version however, so you neither have ero tags, nor "no sexual content".. like what the heck.
In my opinion only releases that are actually having the same content should be one entry.

Pretty much none of the characters ended up being likable for me and I didn't find the game itself that special either.

There's surely few genuinely good moments as well, but the main mystery payoff and explanation parts weren't really that satisfying in my opinion. I especially dislike virtual reality twists in general because it always allows the writer to very conveniently justify all sorts of mysterious and incomprehensible bullshit without actually creating proper foreshadowing and connected stuff. As such the side heroine routes ended up feeling like random "end of the world" plots that didn't really connect to the main plot in any meaningful way, plus the tragedies in Iri's first route don't make any sense at all considering the shit in non-true routes were explained to be Touya programming the simulation to punish the protagonist for choosing any *other* girl than Iri. I know sci-fi always has "unrealistic" shit, but explaining everything with simulation feels like the laziest route to take.

There's also the matter with mood whiplash: the game starts nice and happy, then after the introduction are over the beginning has pretty fucked shit (even gory bad end) so you'd naturally expect the game to continue with that tone, but it just goes back to more cheery stuff for the duration of common route until becoming darker again in the actual heroine routes.

i agree, but drinking on an empty stomach and not wanting to drag out a scene can really speed things up. iirc hanasaki work spring did it decently and had a short timeskip before everyone was stripping naked, and the sensei from koichoco was a heavy drinker who only got wasted in one scene which was for story purposes

They should start making games which don't fall apart after the common route if they want people to buy their games.

You can alway leave the game for later when you'll be able to read alone.

After some library shut-in and trying to escape from reality, it's time for some space adventure.

This game is actually relatively fun. I'd like a little less scenes about random "technical" aspects of spaceships and whatnot and instead a bit more character interaction though. Similar to Noroi no Maken the characters just stale a bit pale, although at least the girl on pic related could be quite a nice character.
Gameplay is on the one hand overly simple, but still kinda gives me the "just one more thing" feeling. It seems like it should be boring, but somehow manages not being so, for me at least.
