Debuffs exist for the E3 boss, and for both E5 bosses. Debuffing the bosses lowers their armour, making them easier to kill. How to debuff (current speculation):
-To debuff the E3 boss, acquire in E3 S ranks in nodes K, P, Q, R and V once each.
-To debuff the E5 bosses, acquire in E5 perfect S ranks in air raid node C once, S ranks in nodes D and E once each, and AS+ against an air raid once.

WARNING: Debuffs will reset if switching from any other difficulty to Kou (hard).

News:
-The Spring 2017 event "Sortie! Northeast Area 5th Fleet", with 5 maps over 2 operations, has started. It will last for around 20 days, after which a Nagato-class BB will get Kai 2.
-Kamoi, Kasuga Maru/Taiyou, Shimushu, Kunashiri, Etorofu and Gangut/Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya are the six ships added for the event. The Hayabusa series of interceptors has also been added as event map rewards; with Model IIIA 54th Squadron being rewarded for Otsu (medium) and Kou (hard) difficulty, with the latter also rewarding Model II 64th Squadron and Model III Kai 55th Squadron.
-Anniversary seasonal lines (but not sprites) have been removed.
-The bug with bonus firepower from improvements to secondary armament guns (15.2cm single gun, 90mm single high-angle gun, OTO 152mm triple gun) has been fixed.
-A Kai 2 is planned for Kumano this spring or later. Saratoga and Yura will also get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see something "interesting" regarding foreign ships.
-New Akizuki- and Matsu-class destroyers are under plans to be added.

It took me 81 s-ranks at E-2 to get Kunashiri to finally drop. I had similarly bad luck getting the other event drops, and I easily spent way more time farming this event than actually clearing it.

Shitty drop rates is the only reason I bother stockpiling for these events anymore. The events themselves haven't been that rough with a few exceptions, but drop RNG can be unpredictably awful.

Hull numbers in the USN go by the order in which the ship is approved. Thus Fletcher was approved before any of her sisters. She just happened to be a bit of a late bloomer compared to Nicholas and O'Bannon. The older sister is a late bloomer in other words.

Thus Wisconsin is younger than Missouri but Missouri is a late bloomer so she was completed later.

KCV is old and busted now save for the gook fork, but the gook fork is just that useful. Whether you're willing to endure gookrunes is, well, up to you. There's also ING and poi, both based off KCV, that can do more than the non-gook builds, but IIRC both were made by chinks.

EO is still popular. Many KCV users jumped ship to it last November.

KC3 is entry level but it can hold its own against EO. Though a lot of /jp/ hate it just because it's entry level.

This is a WWII ship so it's best suited to call the ships for what they were called in that moment.

An escort ship is just a general, vague classification, It isn't specified in the USN hull classification system. PF, however, is part of the hull classification and you've got there an official source classifying then as PF.

Viewers translate important information but besides some viewers adding voice subtitles and translating quest text and ship names on screen you'll have to memorize what different buttons and signs do, which isn't a colossal hurdle to overcome.

The android app is not translated, and not very good to use besides for certain day to day tasks and maybe PVP exercises. Very good for spending money with, however. Much easier to use the cash shop with the app than browser game if you're a filthy gaijin.
