OP, just a tip. As you can see I didn't let people to use other weapons than Reimu A in the last thread on SA challenges, for a good reason.

Other weapons have advantage over others to score higher. I'm actually sleepy so I forgot.

It's not as much of an advantage as people who normally play Reimu A would have over everyone else. There are high scoring runs for every character, and we're not getting anywhere near their limit in this thread, so I'm not worried about it.

I do agree that MarisaB is way too strong to be fair in this kind of thing, but we're just gonna assume a bit of sportsmanship here. Other than something major like that, there's no reason to restrict character choice.

Really? As far as I remember I always scored a bit higher with Reimu B. Well, I have only use her twice, so meh.

So yeah, characters and weapons must be only restringed in very special cases only.

Agree and disagree. Agree in the fact that this is just to play between us and have a good time.

Disagree since if this is a competition all players must have the same advantages, but yeah there is no way to tell for sure if some weapons are better than other for scoring etc.

Let just make the character and weapon choice open from now until we are proved wrong.

Felt like a pretty awesome run while it was happening...Died stupidly on Sakuya's ubergraze loldoesn'thitaboveme card, on her stupid easy noncard, and then died last time intentionally for more bombs for bullet cancel bonus, but didn't end up using em..;_; I captured all but her last spell card, too, yet the scores awful since I couldn't POC very many items in the stage.

To me it's the same thing as in fighting games: sure, there are some characters that are far better, but if you play better with a weaker character, then why say you can't?
The only time that a character should be banned is when they're so good that it destroys the competition and makes playing that character mandatory for winning.

Forgot what a bitch match mode Normal is compared to Story Mode, won the first round then lost the next two, with Reisen still not going down at 2:49 on the last one.

Also, going for score in a single match is lame in PoFV, because you have to make sure you lose one round as late as possible in order to milk as much score as you can.

I just quit after doing atrocious in the stage then dying on her first spellcard then again at the last second on her second spellcard.

Stage 4 is most of the reason why I hate MoF; usually I just let most of the items drop and I can still barely survive.

lol, I had just 1 fewer point item and 4 less graze than you. Probably shouldn't have used ReimuA for Easy Modo, could have gotten larger spellcard bonuses.

Starting Stage 2 in practice mode is a bitch, normally I'd be almost to max power before Daiyousei with ReimuA and possibly already max with Marisa, so I can start POC'ing the birds after her immediately... not so with only 64 starting power in practice

oh that was fun, I ran out of lives, so no score.

I actually captured her midboss card and 1st spellcard but died about 100 times on Omoikane's Device and Apollo 13.

Almost never play 6A, it wasn't that long ago I went and tried it again for the hell of it and was raging over how much harder the start of the stage was to POC after each wave compared to 6B... actually didn't have any trouble with that this time but just fell apart after dying on Game of Life
