'no' instead of 'ha' and it would have been right.

Who the fuck cares? /lang/ might but we sure as hell don't.

>>1678375

thats 'wa' not 'ha' because it's a particle. so, watashi no onamae wa ___ is correct?

>> No.1678397

>>1678384

talk like that and you'll get shot. its "onamae wa ----" or just "--- desu"

>> No.1678446

As for me, as for the honorable name (his name).

OHHHH

ワタシ ハ オナマエ ハ

YIPYIPYIPYIPYIPYIPYIP

>> No.1678464

"O" of onamae is keigo. Keigo is used to express respect others. Do not use for yourself. So "namae" is correct when you say your name.
FYI, "Onamae wa?" means "What is your name?"

Well for one, the guy was probably just trying to relate to you and make you feel cool because you could understand him, so calm the fuck down. It'll happen a lot more if you keep on telling people you're a Japanese anything.

As for the phrase, everyone's already corrected it just fine, but just for the record, if for some bizarre reason you wind up talking to a native speaker, try to never use 私 when introducing yourself, it makes you sound like a total tool. Just go with:

-(name) (just your name. Nothing else. This is normal.)
-(name) (だ/です、apply according to your gender, m/f)
-(name) (ともうします)

Never fucking mix 私 with ANY of these, but especially not the last one, as you can't mix it with と。

This is the only that's strictly speaking wrong about the sentence.
