Wizards prepare their spells in the beginning of the day after a full night's rest. Once all their spells are prepared, they have no need of the spell book until the next morning. So it would make sense she wouldn't bring her spellbook to the battlefield--if it gets destroyed, she loses all the spells she's spent her life researching and developing.
