Do you play any MMOs, /jp/? I'm looking for something to play. I quit playing FFXIV because it's shit. I have no interest in WoW. Most other modern MMOs aren't worth playing.

I amused the idea of revisiting Ragnarok, but I don't know if NovaRO or Rise of Midgard are worth bothering with, and everything I hear about the official servers is awful.

Are you playing anything right now?

I don't have fun with MMOs anymore. I played private server World of warcraft last year but I got bored of that quickly. I would like to play something like TERA because I found PVP fun, but my latency was too high to have any serious enjoyment.

I'm playing Tera because cute girls are cute and the action combat system is quite refreshing from the tab targeting one. Tried to play Tree of Savior but its total garbage, even some basic functions like storage are pay to play and has zero optimization, not even a SLI GTX 980ti can make it work at steady 60 fps.

I returned to wow just to see if the new paragon and diablo system was fun, and it actually is a lot more fun than WoD. Sadly the game is extremely unfriendly to alt characters

Tree of Savior and Mabinogi are the only MMORPGs I can stand to play. Everything else is too lame/ugly/boring. Peria Chronicles is my last hope to take it easy in an MMO, but I'm probably going to give up.

I'm sad I'll never get to play MMORPGs with /jp/ again like the early days. Everyone interested here nowadays is some /v/ or /vg/ tainted faggot not worth associating with. But even /jp/'s own groups accrued undesirables over time.

I stopped playing FFXIV because I found the endgame boring. I tried ToS but it was very disappointing, like >>16592535 said. I don't think the concept of "here's 4 different games that when combined do the same thing as RO" is a good argument against RO being good or not, a combined package of good things > many packages of good things.
Tree of Savior is terrible all around and if you want the cuteness and music, you could just change your wallpaper and blast the techno music that comes with it (that is for some reason lower quality than ROs OST)

I'd love to hop in here and attempt to get a group going, but with a few clicks you can already say that this thread is filled with crossboarders such as:

>>16595627

Of course these people might not be bad people in any way, and maybe they've contributed to the well-being of /jp/ for eons, but there's no way other than to force everyone to jump trough VPN hoops and playing some obscure old and dead game on Eastern servers to (mostly) nullify out drama-seekers and just general advertisers, and even then most people who have played together thanks to threads like these are burned out from being tricked by some buttwads from /vg/, /v/ or even /pol/ at times.

What I'm saying is that the quality (bitrate) of the Tree of Savior OST is LITERALLY worse.

I'm not going to argue about the four other games doing things in RO better considering that's still a moot point as they don't do all the things RO does better or somewhat equally as good, aside from maybe diablo 2 without counting the cute factor.

it depends what you're looking for because they're trying to please all different populations and failing in some cases. the tldr is that casual players (majority) like it and competitive players who care about leaderboards dislike it. overall, the good outweighs the bad.

small/random group content - dungeons are the best they've been because diablo 3 system keeps them interesting and relevant.
large/organized group content - raids are good this expansion as always.
solo content - leveling in the past 2 expansions has been great, but you're much less inclined to make more than one character now. there are a lot of campaign and daily quests at max level to learn the lore and stay busy if this is your preference. the story is pretty good except for the lame viking shit.

the main problems with legion are:
1. you have to play a ridiculous amount if you're striving to max out your character. even if you do, the game will still probably piss you off with the strongest items being completely random drops.
2. for basically the same reason, it's extremely unfriendly if you want to try another talent spec or class. it used to be just gear that mattered (and you could share this between class specializations). now it's gear, artifact level, random legendary loot. you have to grind everything again before you can do any difficult content.
