Wanko is a moe game, of course there are some people who dislike this genre but most people who played it seemed to have enjoyed it.

Chaos; Head and F/SN are a different story

F/SN was hyped up to be this awesome fantasy fighting VN. It failed to deliver on that, because the game is mostly made up of explaining things and breakfast conversation that are mostly irrelevant. Not to mention, most of the stuff explain has to get explained again in the other routes. Seriously, how many times do I have to be explained about Shirou's magic circuit!? Also, most of the fights weren't really that great, because just ended up being THIS IS MY FINAL MOVE! Come on, I loved the fight with Archer and Shirou and with Gilgamesh and Shirou, but the fights in the rest of the routes were lacking in epicness and you know... actually being a fight.

Chaos; Head was suppose to be this mystery/thriller mind fuck VN. Instead, it was basically shonen crap that came out of left field. The premise was great. You know... some kid in a container who can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy. That was all great, but by the end everyone was pretty much useless. I mean, hell Nanami doesn't even use her Di-Sword. (Yeah I know she's handless but that is beside the point) The point is if the makers really wanted to make an enjoyable shonen. Least make all the characters get into fights with bad guys at the end. I mean, the fights can be cool like with Suwa and the whole switching places thing. Also, what was up with the crappy character development? I mean, I expected this from a crappy company but come on... It's motherfucking Nitro+!

Chaos;Head didn't get that much pre-release hype from the moonspeakers, most of the hype came from the retards who thought NITROPLUS MADE IT SO IT'LL BE AWESOME.

I think the backlash against F/sn mostly comes from the patch taking ages to complete while people constantly went "OH MY GOD YOU GUYS THIS NEXT ROUTE WILL BLOW YOUR MIND I GUARANTEE IT". Finished product then fails to live up to the hype so people feel cheated and rage about it being shit. Whereas if it had just been released all at once minus the hype (like Ever17?) we probably could have just enjoyed it for what it was, a somewhat-entertaining-but-not-great VN. Which is why I kind of hate the "release one route at a time" method of translation.
