>BAD END: After the first translator gave up, we went through a bunch of people that would translate, but sooner or later they just ceased communicating. Recruiting people this way didn't really turn up reliable people; we asked all the translators we knew but none were interested. I highly doubt an open Wiki translation would help.

Thanks to them? That doesn't really make sense to me, probably because I lack context. This sounds odd, why is "Thanks to them," there?

How much of the translation is complete at this point?

>> No.1648283

If you had an open translation wiki you wouldn't have a problem finding dedicated translators because you wouldn't need dedicated translators. A hobbyist can come by and do an hour's worth here and there, and rest easy knowing someone will come along and correct his mistakes if he fucks up somewhere and it's no big deal.

It's intimidating to have to pass some test and get let into the secret club. The 5 hours it takes to translate your test could be used on translating that much more of the script.

You're asking for volunteers. Anybody who could read moon well enough to translate this shit fast enough to single-handedly translate the rest of it doesn't give a shit about translating it for the rest of us. You're relying on lazy scum who sometimes want to do a little bit of good.

So why don't you actually open your project up to allow people to help you? If you dumped what was translated of the script I think you'd push the project ahead a lot faster. People can start picking at the script and little by little get it done, instead of dicking around and waiting for someone to pass your ultimate power level test to be allowed to even know which parts aren't completed yet.
