Mr Rozen Aso just got told to suppress his power level from Miyazaki.
It seem even if you become PM you will still be chastised for liking animu, mango & VN.
Isnt it sad /jp/?

This should raise alarms as loud as "candidate for vice president doesn't believe in theory of evolution". This Miyazaki fellow sounds like an utter loon.

You're taking a single sentence and acting like he said parents should have their children learn how to fend for themselves in the wild for three days. Everyone should be able to do something as simple as light a fire and use a knife.

So, Miyazaki-san, you'd have your government concentrate on... what? Growing trees?
Roads and bridges are the environment. The human environment. And yes, it's for future generations too. All the better to sell future generations nice things, provide jobs, bring a country closer together.

bah... thread on /a/... hoping it'll be there later. I gotta go to my uni and inquire about a surprise fee. Later, friends!

Also part of it is parents don't let their children use knives because they're afraid they'll cut themselves, same with fire and burning themselves. This just means they're more likely to cut and burn themselves because they'll have no experience with fire and knives when they need them.

>> No.1644438

Actually, there is a lot more to know than just that. Preparing an animal for eating takes a lot more work than just hack ... done. Same with fires, there is more to it than just tossing wood down and lighting a match.

I think everyone should read the US Army Field Survival Manual at least once.

That's not much surprising, to tell the truth. The most conservative people aren't usually very happy of seeing their representatives flaunt their extravacances in public for everyone to see (see Berlusconi), and I have to assume Japan is even more stricter in that regard than any other country especially if someone such as the PM is involved.
This said, Miyazaki isn't exactly the kind of guy you would take at his word. Poor devil has grown an aversion for anything popular among youth ever since he got riled up for an old Nausicaa game which didn't hold to the anime's spirit at all. Everything has gone downhill after that.

You have to admit that Miyazaki has a point though. There's nothing wrong with immersing oneself in imaginary worlds, but taking it too far isn't healthy. He's voicing the need for children to be more pragmatic and self-reliant.

For the sake of argument, let's say I agree and that point is indisputable. Fine. So what? All kinds of things are unhealthy, especially when taken too far. Whose business is it? Nobody's. If I want to pop wheelies on a motorcycle or skydive or drink myself into an early grave, good for me. You disapprove? That's great, go fuck yourself.

People need to stop looking to play parent for everyone EXCEPT their own kids. You care about the children? That's great, take up education reform as your pet cause then. Fucking with their already limited free time doesn't stem from concern for them, it's just ephebiphobia.
