As someone who lives in good ol' Nihon, I can't fucking stand this movie. It's 5 minutes Godzilla and 2 hours + of Japanese bureaucracy, which I deal with daily. Gray offices, and the seniority system is not cinematically interesting at all. not to mention the two shitty forms of Godzilla in the beginning. Fuck this movie with a spiked bat.

Also, it fucking worked, but it wasn't even the best track on the soundtrack.
Persecution of the masses and the theme that plays during the final operation are the best.

It's finally showing in my country, but I'm afraid to watch it.

A friend told me that people were laughing hysterically during the movie, even during the serious scenes.

I don't think I could handle being in the same theater, experiencing all the second hand embarrassment of the context lost in translation.

I'll probably torrent it when there is a bluray.

Anno loves Barry Grey, but I'd argue the key influence overall is Thunderbirds. He takes the visuals and the soundtrack's same striking, bold tone that puts everything on a much grandeur scale. You could mixes up the soundtracks and you wouldn't notice shit.

I just went to see it. I was the only person in the theater.

I thought that would be ideal for an introvert like me but some lady kept walking in, probably to see if I wasn't jerking off or something. They also kept turning the lights on and off, were they trying to make me leave??

I felt really anxious, as if I was doing something illegal. Would a normal person have left the theater if it was empty? It was a very traumatic experience and I will not go back to the theater in a couple of decades.

Anyways it was my favorite godzilla movie but I feel like delaying 3.0+1.0 by 5 years wasn't worth it. I enjoyed the music and I wanted to mating press the dandere OL.

The chick was checking the exits to make sure they weren't propped open. The lights was somebody being either a moron or a dick. You are lucky. I went during the US run and every theater was sold out for every night. Although I got tickets early I was crammed in with every Gojira fan on the East Coast. Some dork a row back was crying because the smell of my half whiskey filled large ice and coca cola cup was scaring him.
