Without trying to predict too much about how Hexennacht will end, how will OBSTACLE continue? I don't think Kawakami would be satisfied with just 1000 (plus however many v4 is) or so pages in an era with so much potential for world building.

The whole era is created by the Black Witch, so if they win Hexennacht I can't see how it can continue from there.
This is assuming it goes according to Js06's prediction that Hexennacht happens next volume.
He could always write prequels e.g. Kagami and May Reese in Mary's world, but that doesn't seem like Kawakami's style and you already know the conclusion.

If Hexennacht is lost, will Kagami pursue the Black Witch alone, will her friends come along?

Just finished volume 4-C and holy shit this was an incredible ride. After the events on vol 3 this is the perfect adittion to the story.

For some reason I feel like a bittersweet thing after the last chapter, something seems nostalgic, like a mix of happiness and sadness, people were lost, others gained something else, and others finally found their resolution.

That last illustration with Masamune's mother and Yoshiaki plus the phrase, damn that was a hard hit.

It's still poorly explained, though. We know 7th Gear's concepts revolve around body modification (it's pretty much a distilled version of the body cultivation you see in xianxia or wuxia fiction). It's not clear how we get from that to a beast with the ability to summon images of the past.
