Dunno why BT's scaling algorithm always fucks up the colors for the recent uploads. Just make sure you get the full sized version.

Also, if js06 is around, do you want me to screen cap Boo Boo volume 2-3 completely? Dunno if it's easier for you to translate from the actual copy or from a digital release.

Without trying to predict too much about how Hexennacht will end, how will OBSTACLE continue? I don't think Kawakami would be satisfied with just 1000 (plus however many v4 is) or so pages in an era with so much potential for world building.

The whole era is created by the Black Witch, so if they win Hexennacht I can't see how it can continue from there.
This is assuming it goes according to Js06's prediction that Hexennacht happens next volume.
He could always write prequels e.g. Kagami and May Reese in Mary's world, but that doesn't seem like Kawakami's style and you already know the conclusion.

If Hexennacht is lost, will Kagami pursue the Black Witch alone, will her friends come along?

>> No.16364382

>>16364284
If they defeat the Black Witch, Kagami's sister will just move on to another world leaving that one safe.

Also, it seems the manga skipped past the Rank 1 fight and started Hexennacht so it's definitely gonna start next volume.

First I've heard of this, too.

His self-insert is Neshinbara. His ability is called "Mountains of Words" after all.
Jokes aside, he probably puts a little of himself into his characters. Toori's perversion, Masazumi's love of puns, and Neshinbara's obsession with history bordering on chuuni. In addition, for the longest time his twitter profile picture and background were of Asama.

>At Mikawa, Mikawa disappeared and we didn’t make any money. At England, I used too much money against the baseball team during the Armada Battle, but we still made a little money. At M.H.R.R., we were betrayed and I had to fight in a super prostration battle to stay with our allies, so we didn’t make any money at all. I thought we would make money at Kantou, but the three nations meeting kept that from happening. We were treated like enemies at the special student general assembly for some reason. We were even temporarily stripped up our authority, proving how much of a monster our Vice President is. We are now making a little money selling vegetables.

Do you want me to typeset Narumi as usual, simply Date Narumi?

I love it too, the idea of a cannon powerful enough to push back an 8 kilometer long flying ship that weighs 4.800.000 tons is mindblowing.

Speaking of the recoil, we know the Musashi was pushed 2 kilometers back. If we knew how long it took them to brake the ship, couldn't we calculate the amount of energy in the recoil due to Newton's third law?

It's been a long time since physics class, but don't recall anything you can do with just the mass and the recoil distance.

But we can napkin math it and say that if the recoil lasted 10 seconds, via equations I won't show unless people want to see them that means the acceleration was 40 m/s^2, the initial recoil speed was 240 m/s backwards, and the kinetic energy of the recoil was around 125 terajoules, or just about 2 of the Little Boy bombs dropped on Hiroshima.

In terms of force, about 100 giganewtons, or 17,420 Saturn V rockets at liftoff.

My math may be off somewhere, but when you're talking about moving 4,800,000 tons all the numbers get ridiculous.

Just finished volume 4-C and holy shit this was an incredible ride. After the events on vol 3 this is the perfect adittion to the story.

For some reason I feel like a bittersweet thing after the last chapter, something seems nostalgic, like a mix of happiness and sadness, people were lost, others gained something else, and others finally found their resolution.

That last illustration with Masamune's mother and Yoshiaki plus the phrase, damn that was a hard hit.

>how does Musashi connect to Ieyasu
From what I remember, lord Motonobu of Mikawa had inherited the Motonobu name and was therefore to become Tokugawa Ieyasu when he historically changed his name. After the Mikawa incident, I suppose Horizon takes that role.

>Who`s Hideyoshi here, again?
Toyotomi Hideyoshi aka Hashiba Hideyoshi is another example of these confusing name changes.
Kinoshita Toukichirou was just Hashiba's earliest (childhood?) name, which is why Toukichirou is Hashiba's given name in the Horizonverse, but it's all the same person.

The earliest example I can think of is Yuki Mori in Space Battleship Yamato -- and that's from 1972!

At this point, bodysuits are so prevalent in otaku culture that Kawakami could have gotten inspiration from just about anywhere.

If I had to guess, think of how crumple zones on a car work. They don't actually reduce the overall force any, they just spread it out from a single large impact into a smaller, more spread out events, so that the sudden change in acceleration doesn't break your neck.

Or if you prefer computer metaphors to automotive ones, it stores all the force in a buffer array, and only releases that force in small enough chunks to process without breaking things. This might literally be how automaton gravity barriers work actually, with them shattering representing a buffer overflow.

So quick question. I was rereading volume 4, and this caught my eye. 4B chapter 50:
>As the manager leaned forward, the blue sky and the colors white and black appeared on the screen.
>The ground was a vast hole and a single white bridge crossed it below the floating fog and blue sky.
>…What is this?
>“That idiot had Suga or Nabe head out ahead of him to film him as he crossed, didn’t he?”
>A pink arrow and the word “here” appeared above the suspension bridge. The black dot moving below the arrow must have been the manager’s husband.
Did anything actually come out of this? It makes sense that it's the hole where Novgorod used to be, but I don't remember Aoi Husband ever showing up after that, and I can't think of who Suga and Nabe might be.

It's still poorly explained, though. We know 7th Gear's concepts revolve around body modification (it's pretty much a distilled version of the body cultivation you see in xianxia or wuxia fiction). It's not clear how we get from that to a beast with the ability to summon images of the past.

It's said in the first volume that he came from 7th Gear.
>“Tes. He was told to ask Shinjou-shi for any simple information he lacked. …Also, he was handed the sacred beast Baku from 7th-Gear. It is to help him by showing him the past.”

Just search for '7th' using ctrl+F and you'll find it.

Yeah, then they reached their pinnacle and decided to end themselves, but not without finding someone to inherit it all before. Having a creature that can show you the past can make the inheritance process a little easier. That's my guess.

>“They were fighting over the 8 PM TV channel.”
What a great way to end the volume.

Since all mythology derives from the Gears, I don't think it needs much explanation. Low-Gear people interpreted the things that came out of the portals as magic or divine, but it wasn't necessarily in relation to the cores.
