Let me explain this:
Tenshi is not necessarily a masochist: She craves stimulation. This is is associated to her earthly roots as being once a human, rather than simply being reborn as a celestial. As pain is much more vivid than pleasure, she does as it to hold upon the fading remnants of her human soul. She is slowly losing her human feelings to that of the bearings of a heavenly being, so she lashes out in actions that may seem petty and　immature, it is for that very reason. She wishes to hold upon the last burning embers of her youth, so she expresses her passions, her joys, her nostalgia of her once earthly living with the invulnerability and power of the heavens.
Weep for the divine, for what could the fruits of the heavens compare to when it is all but a blinding paradise?
