Do you believe in reincarnation?

>> No.1627560

Do you mean cross-species reincarnation in the Hindu/Buddhist sense or human reincarnation in the Roa sense?

Hindu/Buddhist. What is Shinto's stance on reincarnation? I shall go wiki it.

'tis but one path a soul may take.

But to request where one gets reincarnated is reserved for the purest of souls.

Reincarnation? Does not compute!

Animals can reincarnate as humans. Also a soul may stay in limbo for an extended period of time before reentering the world. Most doctrines with reincarnation do not include a infinite cycle, even though there is the potential. Therefore who is to say that a new soul can not be created if they can be destroyed or arive at the end of a cycle of rebirths?

Could I reincarnate as one single bacteria, if only humans contain 500+ different species of bacteria?
Sweet.

You have to be a very bad person to get such a lesser reincarnation.

>> No.1629372

There must be a lot of bad people in the world
There are 450,000 microbes(rough estimate) in a SINGLE human, add to this every single microbe found in 6,453,628 000 people.

Now you have a fraction of earth's microbes, since they can be found on almost everywhere.

The odds are against you.

29%? By my count it's 15%, unless you're including half-elves, but that'd make it 24%.

That's not really that awesome. Sure, you're immune to sleep effects, but you miss out on the extra skill point per level and the extra feat. Kinda stupid trade-off.

Read the Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett. Interesting, if somewhat disturbing take on reincarnation.

The universe is already overcrowded as it is, so the various little heavens and hells of different religions are stashed away pretty much everywhere. The "wee free men" of the title are a warrior culture by nature, and so they believe the harsh, unforgiving reality is actually their heaven. Because of this, they have no fear of death - since from their point of view they are already dead, anyone who dies is actually reincarnated. In short, their world view is the opposite of most religions, where life is suffering and some sort of paradise awaits after death.
