Is Ali Express really as bad quality as some say it is?

How do original and knockoff figures, dakis and etc. compare?

It's cheap Chinese shit. This should tell you everything you need to know about quality.

I mean, if you want to grab some cheap electronics or some such they're pretty decent (there's a thread on /g/ dedicated to it) but for figures and such you're going to get a bit of a mess. Maybe less for daki covers but you'd still want some quality for something you're going to be in contact with for 6-8 hours.

Most of my daki's are from Ali Express.
They aren't that bad at least the ones I got.
I mean it's printed cloth, how can they fuck that up?

When China sends its merch, they're not sending their best. They're sending merch that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing hotglues. They're bringing bins. They're bootlegs. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate China. I love China. I have great relationships with the Chinese people. Bootleg figures are always going to be shit.

Wallscrolls, posters, dakis are easy enough to recreate, so they are close enough to official quality. Useful when there's no way to get the official merchandise anymore, or if you don't want to cumstain a 15k yen rare douijin daki cover.

Someone who negotiates directly with these manufacturers told me they have 6 levels of quality one can specify, most of the cheapo stuff is in the lower levels. Supposedly there's barely any demand at all for higher level manufacture.
