Wanko to Kurasou started as an Anon VN translation project. Does that count?

No because it's still not done.

The patch is new (ie. newly created), and it is the final patch of the "beta" series of patches. I see no problem.

I thought they already picked a name.

Almost

>>1621697
He is. I wish we could do that, but right now we're still more at the screaming-for-demo-art stage.

>> No.1621789

>>1621730
So, it's the usual "we have scripts but need moar drawfags" stage for you.
I'd draw for you, if I had the skills. Alas, I lack skills, having stopped drawing back in high school.

>> No.1621865

>>1621789
Actually, it's not so much needing moar drawfags as getting art from the ones we have. Drawing in a common style is hard enough, and every added cook risks spoiling the soup.
Also, delicious irony, more sprites just came in. That'll learn me to shut my whore mouth.

>> No.1622037

>>1621865
Hmm.

So nothing new since I last visited the channel months ago?

>> No.1622042

>>1621865
Maybe if you keep yapping, more sprites will be coming.
Ufufu.

>> No.1622052

BRO FIST TRANSLATIONS is apparently too awesome for TakaJun.

>> No.1622091

I always think the supply of writefags exceeds the supply of drawfags, because it's so much easier to criticize the work of the latter. Hope I can find some in a year or so.

I wonder if there will ever be another OELVN project on the collective scale of K-S? I mean, assuming it finishes, which looks likely at this point, are they all going to be bored silly? Sick of it? Inspire others?

>> No.1622110

>>1622091
If they finish, I hope it inspires others to set ground rules for any future projects with the aim of eliminating drama whores from the project before they can act.

>> No.1622133

>>1622110
From looking at how the project is going, we can probably set rules right now, if one were to begin a project at this time.

Speaking of KS, can someone demoon this:

>> No.1622196

>>1622091
Far as I am concerned, I wouldn't mind being in a new project from the start. Then again, had I been in KS from the start, I might have already said 'fuck this' and gone looking for greener pastures, who knows.
Also, I have a Tsukihime (re)translation to toy with now, so there's something to keep me busy for a couple of years in case I don't find anything original...

Summary:

In February 2008, Katawa Shoujo took the Japanese otaku news world by storm, prompting many positive reactions Japanese otaku and became a popular topic of discussion for some time.

After that there was a period of silence in the Japanese otaku world concerning the status of the project - until quite recently.

The blogger then introduces the main gist of Katawa Shoujo to those who haven't heard about it before (all the girls are handicapped in some way, the story takes place in modern-day Japan, etc), the characters (whose names he translated Japanese by guessing the most logical kanji), and he also translates the dialogue of the Katawa Shoujo gameplay video (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=xuKfPNM8LVk)) into Japanese.

He then goes on to say that the premise of the game might not be for everyone (having an all-handicapped cast), but at the very least, the sweat and tears put into the project should be deemed praiseworthy by everyone. Going as far as researching and matching up the blood types and personalities of the characters is admirable. The blogger says that he has no choice to bow his head in respect to this level of attention to detail.

He then closes with a statement along the lines of "If no one else will take up this story [and spread the word throughout the Japanese otaku news world], then I will."

Maybe it'll actually be finished. Then it won't be 4chan's version of Duke Nukem Forever.
