Debuffs exist for the E3 boss, for the E5 map, and for the E5 boss fleet. Debuffing the E5 map will open a new starting point closer to the boss. Debuffing the E3 boss and the E5 boss fleet lowers their armour, making them easier to kill. How to debuff (current speculation):
-To debuff the E3 boss: acquire in E2 AS+ against the two air raids twice each, and perfect S at air raid nodes A, G, K and L once each, and in E3 acquire S ranks at nodes C, D, H and J once each, and A rank at node K once.
-To debuff the E5 map: acquire in E5 S ranks at node A thrice for Kou (hard)/twice for Otsu (medium)/once for Hei (easy) modes, and at nodes C, G and H once each, and AS+ against the two air raids once each.
-To debuff the E5 boss fleet: acquire in E5 S ranks at node P twice and at nodes K, M, N, O and U once each, AS+ against an air raid four more times, and sink 10 enemy transport ships total in nodes A and F.

For the E5 map debuff, a cutscene will play revealing the second starting point.
For the boss debuffs, if you hear the quest completion jingle when you return to base after a sortie, it means the debuff is successful. You only get to hear it once per successful debuff. While the E3 and E5 boss debuffs are active, the bosses will have different sprites and voice lines on encounter.
WARNING: Debuffs will reset if switching difficulties, unless if switching from Otsu (medium) to Hei (easy) or vice versa.

News:
-The Autumn 2016 Event has started. It consists of 3 standard operations and 2 extra operations, for a total of 5 maps. The event will end on December 7, at 11:00.
-The ships implemented for this event are drops Yamakaze (E2, E3) and Asakaze (E4, E5), E3 reward Commandant Teste, and E5 reward Saratoga.
-Late Autumn voice lines (including Wine of Autumn voice lines) have been implemented. The other autumn voice lines have been removed.
-"That type" of aircraft and a new system will finally be introduced in autumn or later.
-The next Kai 2 will be for a CA.

Look how far it got you. Maybe now you'll learn to use your brain before sortieing and won't make such mistake next event. You should always start by understanding why are you using specific ship in specific scenario. Don't copy blindly.
People don't use Pastas because Iowa, Bisko and Hotels are stronger. However Pastas are stronger than Kongous.

You can use anything on E5 as long as you bring some nukes. Even without nukes it should still be significantly easier than E4. With Kaga, Akagi, Taihou and CVL I got to last dance with only one retreat and two FCF uses.

I did all the debuffs for E-5 Hard and even spent a bunch of sorties to kill 50 transports for the weekly quest, all for 21k fuel & 10k baux.

Should be no problem, especially if you have the nuclear trio. Btw, I didn't use Nagato for the chipping runs to avoid the sub node.

With Nagato for the final run, it only took me one try to finish it, even though I got a Red T. It would've probably been a daylight kill otherwise. Well, at least only two ships needed major repairs thanks to that Red T.

Kitakami at least got actually remodeled in reality to be a torpedo cruiser. Ooi too was suposed to be the same as Kitakami. Kiso was of the same class too.

Yuudachi wasn't lucky. Devs and players didn't know at that time about 4-3 and 5-1 powerleveling for DDs so they were hard to level. Even so, they hadn't turned out to be as much as a one sided choice as Abukuma since you can use a lot of other elite DDs istead of her.

It took 110 sorties, 54 in final kill range, and 322 buckets. I didn't sparkle beyond using sparkling to kill time during fatigue because it takes hours and hours I could be using to make more attempts. This rapefest really should've been extended another week.

The original plan was to use Ooi instead of Zuiho, but I got desperate and experimented, and this setup reached the boss more often at the cost of requiring a lucky snipe.

2 seaplane bombers on Tone, I would have brought another CVL to chip instead but I locked all others already. I switched to KTKM for final because AS was a lost cause, might as well use opening torps and top tier yasen damage. I would still use her over a second CVL on last dance for this reason.
The torp planes killed some DDs, decent work I guess but sometimes they got raped so hard by tsu that there were none left and Chitose couldn't do any shelling. The real goal of this fleet is to fish for a lucky yasen torp CI though so it doesn't really matter.
I took 28 runs, 8 chips 4 of which reached the boss, rest is last dance which reached boss only 5 times out of 20.

That being said a lot of cheap alcohols and some expensive ones are stupidly bitter, especially cheap beers. Bad wines tend to taste sour. Bad distilled liquors taste like cough medicine. That is indeed the short route. Kaga kitted out with a bomber and three fighters can get air parity at the air raid nodes and boss node and still hit like a small truck.

Route and Boss support might as well be mandatory though, but very very helpful, especially at the Ru node.

If you wasted all of your best ships on E-4H then you may have a hard time with E-5H. If you have Sakawa and Prinz then you have your primary firepower, so you basically need carriers, planes, and some decent support.

If your support arrives and your AACI triggers on the nodes where it matters then you literally can't lose. Don't be afraid to sparkle if you run into some bad luck. Wasting a couple of hours doing that to ensure you can basically walk up to the boss and punch her in the face is worth it.

What you got to realize, she is the best girl in the game, I've been playing 3years, back when people think boats can sink in chuuha, and I've been through IBS, Arpeggio, and AL/MI? Did I remember it right four.. hang on a minute.. five fucking CI, including the last dance CI right into CV hime face.

I went to /jp/, I went to futaba. Everywhere else on the internet, "Kaga is my waifu, Haruna is daijobu, Kongou dess, SUPER KTKM, muh Shigure, poi~, yasen!, muh naziboats" and I.. I stuck by my guns, I said "listen Abukuma, I know how to write your kanji,I will get these bratty destroyers.. to listen to your instructions, we will clear E-4 and kill CV hime, we will come through." And all of a sudden during my 40~ or was it 50th failed sortie, she went mina-san~ and my screen fade to black - looked me in the eye with the torpedo animation coming in - and 1shotted at the boss "........." Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I have seen many clutch kills, but not something like this.

Duck, your favorite DD, FBB (Iowa if you have her), Abukuma and 2CVLs (Chichis prefered) for chipping. Some people used subs, but it will take more time.

I used that fleet for the LD (air parity), but seems you can proc the night scout under denial, so some people switched a CVL for a CLT. That's probably better.

Send expeditions, pvp, craft gear, upgrade stuff whenever I scrounge up screws, run extra ops for medals, ocasionally powerlevel something, LSC (only Musashi and Taihou left. And the Aganos, but nobody cares about the Aganos).

All I did between last event and this was simply stockpile through expeditions though, guess I'm fed up.

The only annoying map in Spring 15 was E-5 and only if you didn't have a sub for tanking Anchorage Water Demon. I myself fed her 5 Goyas but it was worth it. E-6 on the other hand was a piece of cake and actually quite fun and relaxing despite the depressing lyrics of the BGM. Hell, look at it. 4 nodes before the boss, only 3 of which you fought in, and only 1 of which might cause a problem if you couldn't disable CV Hime.
