Seriously what is there for UBW Shirou to regret? He is one of the few in the world who can use a reality marble (externally too), has seen and thus can copy a large number of NPs, gets Rin AND Saber, and has to fuck Rin all day long to keep Saber. Archer probably saw where this was going that's why he let Shirou win.

Funny thing, UBW seems the only route were he sticks to his ideals ... in HF he decides 1 life is more important that 10 lives and in Saber he recognizes his ideals is nothing more that trying to deal with survivors guilt, nothing like that happens in UBW were he refuses to accept were his path might lead.

Seriously the UBW Shirou vs Archer fight was the best scene. No shonen powerlevels shit, no outrageous superpowers (unless you count tracing), no outside interference, and it had awesome dialogue, narration and music. My heart cried for Archer when he called his own ideals and feelings a hypocrisy, and for Shirou who was seriously hurt by his words. And the way Shirou resolved the fight made me shed manly tears. Nothing else in this VN or in any others had ever made me feel like that. Sure there are plenty of VNs with better stories out there, but that scene does well in stirring your emotions.
