Everyone fucking smokes. I'm surprised hookah isn't a big hit there. Every time I take Japanese to a hookah bar they always make sure to grab a card so they can come back.
It just sucks to smoke because of laws retricting smoking to certain areas outdoors. Every smoker knows where to go to smoke, typically areas with little to no foot traffic.

I smoked a cigarette after the one time I smoked pot because my friends said it made it better. I just fell asleep then ate a bag of ketchup chips.

I drink instead because it's one of the few things I've tried that legitimately always makes me feel great. Also it's cheap.

Is smoking cheap in Japan? In PA I think it's going to be over $7 a pack so it's just not something that makes sense to me.
