Hey, a friend of mine just introduced me to SWR the other day on campus, and I really liked the game. Traditionally I've been pretty mediocre at fighting games, but I seem pretty decent at it.

I just downloaded it, but I'm having trouble updating. My friend told me to go to doujin styles, and I downloaded the game from there. Extracted the folder to desktop, dropped the score.dat file in, dropped the english-weather patch in, that went fine. However, the official patches don't seem to work.

The version I downloaded is 1.01, and I also downloaded patches 1.02 through 1.06 from the wiki. I tried installing them to the main folder and to the first subfolder, but when I start up the game it still says 1.01 on the taskbar.

Play a real fighter like Melty Blood. SWR is garbage.

It installs to the default directory in program files
Copy the files from there to your real directory

The patch creates a new folder within the selected directory with the new files. Copy the contents within that folder and place it into your SWR root folder, replacing everything.

I tried out Melty Blood, and it was alright. Like I said I was never a huge fan of more traditional fighters - frankly, it's probably because they're too complex for me, input-wise. I'm pretty good at placement and timing, but if I have to remember multiple complex input strings for different scenarios I'll usually fuck them up.
